Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in"The City", where the current temperature is a very seasonal 63° under skies that produced T-storms until just a short time ago. The Real Feel temperature is only one degree lower @ 62° with a breeze out of the north @ nine mph. T this time, there are no additional alerts, watches, warnings, or statements in the forecast from the NWS. In fact, the not-so-famous, but always accurate WW, which affords me a view of three compass points, indicates that it was indeed "A dark and stormy night."

The sun will rise this morning @ 6:08 a.m. and set later @ 9:28 p.m. In between, the forecast calls for a high-temperature today of 74° with an overnight low of 65° as the skies clear for Thursday's steamy high temperature of 86° under sunny skies.

Baseball last night was not very, very good to me. to paraphrase Chico Esquela, the fictional retired SS portrayed by Garrett Morris on SNL a long time ago. To put it bluntly, all of my teams lost. So, I'll skip those dismal results.

Instead, I'll simply mention that the 28 - 46 Cubs will send LHP Justin Steele, 2 - 5, to the mound versus the 26 - 47 Reds tonight @ 8:05 p.m. EDT. The slipping, 42 - 33 Red Sox, will ask RHP Nick Pivetta, 8 - 5 to right the ship against the 42 - 32 Blue Jays @ 7:07 p.m. tonight.

The generally inept 28 - 45 Tigers try once again to be a Major League™ level team as they play the 40 - 33 Giants, today @ at 3:45 p.m., with RHP Rony Garcia, 2 - 2, on the mound for the Tigers.

Finally, the 32 - 37 Caps attempt to change course and win one over the 28 - 42 Ft. Wayne, IN TinCaps tonight @ 6:35 p.m.

Otherwise, yesterday was a day to watch more of the J6 hearings, read print books, go walkabout for Mary and Ginger in the ayem, and do more ear-reading and crossword solving.

Since Mary and Ginger went walkabout yesterday, they took along Mary's trusty Olympus TG-6 camera and got some additional shots of the channel and our iconic lighthouses.

My favorite is this shot of CG Station GH looking north up the channel.

This is how the shoreline of the channel is seen looking north.

No boats yet, but the Fourth of July holiday weekend is fast approaching.

A lone kite-surfer at the mouth of the Grand River over Lake Michigan.

Today should be a bit more sedate. More ear-reading, more cross-stitching, more music, more print-reading, more crossword solving, and more retirement. Ciao.
