Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 12:00 p.m. in "The City", where the current temperature is 78°. However, it feels like 83° due to an RHI of 80%, so the 11 mph wind out of the south is not doing anything to make it feel more comfortable. The Heat Index will be 105° today! The overnight low is forecast to drop to 65°

In addition, the NWS has issued a Heat Advisory in effect until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night for south-central and southwest Michigan. In addition, they have also added an Air Quality Alert for Ottawa County, MI for tomorrow. Citizens are strongly encouraged to seek out air-conditioned spaces and everyone should avoid strenuous outdoor activity.

Plus, the NWS is forecasting a 70% chance for T-storms, some may be severe, tomorrow night. I'm not buying that one. However, relief is on the way, as Thursday's forecast high temperature calls for a much more seasonal high of 76° with an overnight low of 64°. Wednesday, the sun will rise @ 6:04 a.m. and set later @ 9:26 p.m.

I'm going to keep the baseball report short and sweet. The 24 - 38 Cubs lost big time to the 39 - 24 Padres, 5 - 12, in spite of two home runs by soon-to-be-traded, Willson Contreras. The Padres and the Cubs play again tonight @ 8:05 p.m.

My beloved 33 - 29 Red Sox took one from the 21 - 42 As. 6 - 1. The Sox and the As play again today @ 7:10 p.m.

The woeful 24 - 37 Tigers were outmatched by that 29 - 31 other team from Chicago, 1 - 5. Those two teams play an afternoon game today /@ 1:10 p.m.

Finally, the Caps stole one from the Chiefs, 8 - 7. The Caps and the Chiefs go head to head this afternoon beginning @ 12:05 p.m.

Yesterday was a good day to start another ear read, work on some crossword puzzles, cross-stitch, and stay indoors. However, it was nice enough in the morning to allow Mary to walk STWD for a short distance and take Ginger for a long walk. On Monday, they walked along the channel, and today, they walked to Linear Park. In addition, they picked up some groceries in the early afternoon yesterday before hunkering down. During their walks on Monday and Tuesday, they got some great pix. Since I didn't have a chance to take any pix, I'll insert their efforts here.

I'm given to understand that this is the moon behind the cloud cover.

These ducks were just enjoying the empty channel near Linear Park.

Dredging seems to be an ongoing process in the channel.

They actually first saw the ducks as they were getting to Linear Park.

The channel from the north side.

I just liked how the cirrus clouds looked over the calm waters of the channel

Today should be a day of staying inside, no walking of the fur children, and avoiding any and all strenuous outdoor activities. Ciao.
