Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."

Our current temperature of 53° will also be our overnight low, and it feels like 53° with a slight wind out of the west at five mph. Today's high temperature will reach 68° with an overnight low temperature of 53°. Sunday's high and low temperatures will be slightly elevated, 74° and 66° respectively. But then, we jump back into the 80° plus range for the next 10 days or so. So, here in W. MI, if you have plans to be outdoors, this weekend is it, make no mistake about it.

The sun will rise this morning @ 6:05 a.m. and set tonight @ 9:27 p.m.

In baseball news, the 24 - 46 Cubs relied on the superb pitching of rookie RHP Keegan Thompson, 6 - 2, to hold the 37 - 28 Braves to one run as the Cubs won the game, 1 - 0. Sadly, the win did not go to Thompson. Today's game will feature the stylings of RHP Justin Steele, 1 - 5, on the mound for the Cubs @ 2:20 p.m.

My beloved and suddenly surging 35 - 30 Red Sox, relied on the strong right arm of RHP Michael Wacha, 5 - 1, to eke out a 6 - 5 win over the 37 - 29 St. Louis Cardinals. Both teams meet again in Fenway Park tonight @ 7:05 p.m. when RHP Kutter Crawford, 1 - 1 throws for the Sox.

The still sinking, 24 - 40, 16 games under Tigers, looked awful as they dropped yet another in a long line of losses, this time to the 31 - 33 Rangers, 0 - 7. Sadly, the league has figured out losing LHP Tarik Skubal, who is now 5 - 4.

Hope springs eternal in the Motor City, as much-ballyhooed rookie OF Riley Greene, makes his MLB debut for the Tigers this afternoon for a 4:10 p.m. game. Is Greene the answer to the Tigers' offensive woes? Probably not, but any spark will be welcomed by the Tigers' moribund offense. Rookie RHP Rony Garcia, 0 - 2, makes the start for the Tigers.

Finally, the 29 - 32 Caps eked out a 9 - 8 win over the 26 - 35 Chiefs last night. The Caps and the Chiefs play again tonight in Peoria, IL @ 7:35 p.m.

Today is a day for indoor chores, outdoor watering and weeding at the auxiliary gardens, and watering here in the vast gardens of the Palatial Estate. I have more reading to do, we have more ear-reading to continue, and Mary plans to do more cross-stitching. I may continue the coloring I started yesterday too. Ciao.
