Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. We have just passed 6:00 a.m. in "The City", where the current temperature of 62° is the same as the "Real Feel" temperature of 62° under cloudy skies and which was supposed to yield more rain at 5:30 a.m. However, a furtive look out the WW gives the lie to that part of the forecast from the NWS.

Today's very comfortable high temperature of 63° will be after the sunrise @ 6:08 a.m. and well before the sunset @ 9:17 p.m., followed by an overnight low temperature of 54°. Life in Michigan is great!

Now for a quick update on baseball news.

The 22 - 29 Cubs worked for their 8 - 7 victory over the 32 - 19 Brewers. With 14 regular-roster players on the IL, many Cubs' rookies have been called up from the minor leagues to fill in. One of those rookie players, Chris Morel, has added a strong dose of enthusiasm to the team, much like another player from the 2016 World Series team, Javier Baez, brought when he came up. Tonight's game will feature RHP Kyle Hendricks, 2 - 5, taking the hill for the northsiders @ 8:05 p.m. EDT.

My beloved, 23 - 27 Red Sox once again had slumber in the lumber last night, as they fell to the 17 - 31 Reds, 1 - 2. Tonight's game will commence @ 7:10 p.m. when the Reds return to Fenway Park for a rematch with starting RHP Garrett Whitlock throwing the first pitch for the Sox.

The 19 - 30 Tigers were overmatched by the 30 - 21 Twins in game one of a doubleheader yesterday, losing by a score of 2 - 8. However, the Tigers outplayed the Twins in game two and won that contest, 4 - 0. Today's game begins in Comerica Park @ 1:10 p.m. when LHP Tarik Skubal, 3 - 2, goes for the Tigers. Yesterday's contest featured the Major League debut of rookie Kody Clemons, son of Hall of Famer Roger Clemons, for the Tigers.

The 20 - 26 Caps were outgunned too, in their case by the 24 - 21 Lake County Captains, 6 - 7. Oh well, there is a game today @ 11:00 a.m.

Mary was busy yesterday, washing all of the linens from our bed as well as the many white things to be found here at the manse. My turn to do the indoor chores today.

Yesterday, I also found time to water the vast gardens, work on two crosswords puzzles, and make vegan Italian burgers and meatballs, along with listening to more of The Great Gatsby. Mary is tasked with making her famous spaghetti sauce for tonight's dinner with my meatballs. Otherwise, that's enough for me. Ciao.
