Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:45 a.m. in "The City."

KISS

The current temperature is 69° under clear skies as we head towards today's sunrise @ 6:05 a.m. The sun will set later @ 9:28 p.m. We have a Heat Advisory for lower MI from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. tonight. In addition, the Air Quality Alert continues until 10:00 pm. also.

Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 88° with an overnight low temperature of 68°. There is very little precipitation in the forecast for many days.

The 25 - 42 Cubs are definitely in Wait Til Next Year territory, as they wait for their rookie pitching prospect, RHP Caleb Kilian, 0 - 2, to find out that Major League hitters can hit you hard when you can't paint the corners en route to a 1 - 12 loss to the 27 - 39 Pirates. Tonight's game against those same Pirates begins @ 7:05 p.m. with another rookie RHP on the mound, Matt Swarmer, 1 - 2.

The 26 - 41 Tigers faced my beloved 37 - 31 Red Sox in Fenway Park last night and the Tigers came away with a loss, 2 - 5, while the Red Sox came away with a 5 - 2 win. Tonight's game with RHP rookie pitcher, Beau Brieske, 1 - 5 on the mound for the Tigers, and LHP Rich Hill, 2 - 4, on the bump for the Sox begins @ 7:10.

The 30 - 33 Caps return to Cedar Rapids, IA to face the 41 - 22 Kernels tonight beginning @ 7:35 p.m.

Here at the manse, I discovered that the deer of GH had come by and eaten most of Mary's roses and part of one of my tomato plants. Sunday, I had sprayed deer repellent on the plants that seemed to actually be a deer attractant. Sadly, along with the rabbits, this has been a salad bar year for our local fauna. However, it has also been a good year for flora growth with the cool temperatures and ample rain. Sigh. As previously noted, the temperatures will now be higher and the rains very limited.

I watered our vast gardens yesterday and it is likely that we'll have to get over to the auxiliary gardens tomorrow for watering there and also once again here at the palatial estate.

I finished one novel late last night, and I am starting another today. Of course, we have to ear read more of our shared novel and perhaps continue the sharing of the print reading we started yesterday, a book entitled, Gunfight: My battle Against the Industry that Radicalized America by Ryan Busse, a former gun industry executive. So far, a very interesting read.

We also plan to continue to watch more of the Congressional hearings regarding the attempted coup on our nation's capital. That's all folks. Ciao.
