The sun will rise tomorrow into sunny skies @ 6:07 a.m. and our high temperature will reach 65° before the sunset @ 9:18 p.m. and an overnight low of 48°.
The day was so great, that Mary took both Ginger and STWD for their required walkabouts, while I stayed behind and watered the vast gardens and did some work in the mancave.
Mary, in her official capacity as our Senior Staff Photographer, took time yesterday to walk with Ginger to the waterfront and take some great pictures of Dewey Hill, the channel, Coast Guard Station Grand Haven, and other sights.
Dewey Hill is always a photogenic sight for Mary and Ginger. |
As is the channel and docks where the pleasure boats tie up. |
Looking across the water towards Lake Michigan at Coast Gurad Station GH. |
Coast Guard Station GH and one of the patrol boats moored there. |
One of many waterfront sculptures located adjacent to the channel. |
Mary assures me that I've seen this sculpture next to the Snug Harbor restaurant. I must be suffering from a "Senior Moment", as I cannot recall this one. |
Baseball yesterday was once again very, very good to me, as all of my teams won their respective games.
Today, the 21 - 30 Tigers went 6 - 2 on their just-completed homestand, with a 3 - 2 win over the 30 - 23 Twins. The Tigers are off to NYC tomorrow night to face the 35 - 15 Yankees as rookie RHP Elvin Rodriguez, 0 - 0, pitches for the Sox in a 7:05 game.
The 21 - 26 Caps had a good day today too, as they downed the 24 - 22 Lake County Captains, 7 - 2. The Caps and the Captains play again tomorrow night beginning @ 7:00 p.m. in Eastlake, OH.
My beloved Red Sox have journeyed to the West Coast to face the Oakland As in a game tomorrow night beginning @ 9:40 p.m., as RHP Nathan Eovaldi, 2 - 2, pitches for the Sox.
The 22 - 29 Cubs defeated the 29 - 20 Cardinals in Wrigley Field on the strength of home runs by Willson Contreras, Ian Happ, and Frank Schwindel and with a solid pitching effort by rookie RHP Keegan Thompson, 6 - 0, on the mound for the Cubs.
Most of our day was spent listening to a new ear read, as we gave up on The Great Gatsby. Our latest title is Dear Mrs Bird, by A. J. Pearce, with the A J standing for Amanda Jane. We are liking this book, set in 1940s London, UK, much more than The Great Gatsby.
Late this afternoon, we journeyed to the auxiliary gardens to weed and water. Our garlic and Yukon Gold potatoes are doing great!
We returned to the manse to read the newspapers, do the crossword puzzles, and have a dinner of soup and sandwich before we listened to the POTUS speak about the obvious need for gun control laws.
Tomorrow, we have nothing in need of doing and a corresponding empty schedule. What more could a couple of retirees ask for? Ciao.
