Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."

I am going to dispense with the weather report for today as I just don't feel like having one.

I can you give you a partial trainspotting report for yesterday. Locomotive #2019 passed by heading south @ 8:41 a.m. towing 10 CHCs, three DBTCs, and two DWTCs. I know that the train and likely that same locomotive passed by heading north @ 1:20 p.m., but as I was at P/T, that's all I know from the sound of its passage.

The Cubs pulled out a game yesterday over the Reds 5 - 4  in one of the final games of the season. It seems like only yesterday when I began to describe their exploits in the NL Central. Now, with an overall record of 91 - 69 and only 2 games left to play before the post-season, the Cubs are once again the division champions. Today, they will play the Reds @ 4:05 p.m.

My beloved Red Sox are still struggling @ season's end, losing another game to the Astros by a final score of 2 - 3. With an overall record in the AL East of 92 - 68, they lead the 2nd place Yankees by only 2 games with 2 games left to play. The Sox are assured of at least a Wildcard playoff series. The Sox will once again play the Astros today @ 2:05 p.m.

The Tigers lost to the Twins yesterday, 3 - 6 to remain in 5th and last place in the AL Central. The Tigers and the Twins play today @ 7:10 p.m.

The Spartans of MSU play the Hawkeyes of Iowa today at 4:00 p.m. The Spartans are 4th in the Big 10 with an overall record of 2 - 1.

The Wolverines of Michigan are in 1st place in the Big 10 and are off this week as they prepare to face the Spartans next Saturday in the Big House in Ann Arbor @ 7:30 p.m. Around the state of Michigan, this is a big game that precludes getting a seat at most sports bars.

The 2 - 1 Huskies of NIU play the Aztecs of San Diego State tonight @ 10:30 p.m.

Today we'll be doing some batch cooking and I'll be reading. Ciao.
