Good morning GH. As you may have noticed, I missed a blog on Wednesday. Too many things to do and too little that really was worth blogging about. But today, I'll make up for that. The current temperature here in the Weather Center is 74 comfortable degrees. Outdoors the temperature is 68 as we head for a high of 79. More scattered T-storms are expected today, but the chance is only 30% until later in the day. Much the same for Friday.

On Tuesday, Mary and I took time out to see Star Trek, Into Darkness. We both liked it. Mary might have preferred Gatsby, but she was a good sport about it. I enjoyed the popcorn as I always do. Since we went to a 3:10 showing, we didn't get out until 5:30 PM.

On Wednesday, Mary had a dentist appointment and we walked there and back. All went well and she was out in about 15 minutes. Later in the day, we walked to the local health food store and then to the local grocery store/butcher. One didn't have what we sought and the other was closed by the time we got there. At least Sugar the Weather Dog got in two good walks. We even met another Corgi at the local gas station. It doesn't get any better than that.

In sports, the boys in blue were rained out on Tuesday and then handily beat the other team from Chicago, 9 - 3 on Wednesday. The Tigers fell to the Pirates twice, 0 - 1 and 3 - 5. My beloved Red Sox also fell twice, 1 - 3 and 3 - 4. Ouch. Fortunately, they are still ahead of the Yankees in the American League East standings. The Caps lost on Tuesday 1 - 6 to the Great Lakes Loons. On Wednesday, the Caps returned the favor with a score of 5 - 0.

In NHL playoff action, the Red Wings and the Blackhawks squared off for a final playoff series game. The Blackhawks scored early, but the Red Wings tied it up in the second period. The game remained tied in the third, in spite of a furious attack by the Red Wings, forcing an overtime period. In the early part of the overtime, the Blackhawks scored the decisive goal and moved on in the playoffs. Both teams played hard, but the Blackhawks had come back from a 1 - 3 game deficit in this series to win out.

Otherwise, I got in some guitar playing and puzzle solving on Wednesday. Today, I hope to get in some reading if all goes well. I must mention that the train came through early on Wednesday night, somewhere around 11:30 PM.

So, until...Tea time this morning, Ciao.
