Good early morning GH. It has just passed 12:00 AM here in GH and a train going by awakened me. Seems as though this train was a bit early. Maybe they are getting a head start. The current temperature here in the Weather Center is a very comfortable 67 degrees. Outside the temperature is 59 and we are expecting a high of 76 partly cloudy degrees for the second day of kite fest. While we will have a 20% chance of precipitation, it should be a great day to"Go fly a kite." More about that precipitation later.

My dentist appointment was so routine, that I was done in under 1/2 hour. Mary then met me and we walked over to the state park for the kite fest. Unfortunately, we got there too soon, and that meant that the kites were few and far between. Oh well, there is later today for Mary to get her pictures and that means another walk.

We walked about 6 1/2 miles on Friday and that means that my dogs are barking. Maybe I can convince Mary to ride our bikes as far as the Y in order to save some mileage on my knees. I have an Irish Jam session this afternoon between 1 and 3, and I want to be able to walk there.

Otherwise, we have to put in some time in the back forty doing some planting and watering. We put in a few acres worth of seed on Friday. When we were walking, we felt a few drops of rain, which made us believe that seeding was a good idea.. Unfortunately, those few drops were all we got. Here's hoping that the rain predicted for Monday at 40% really happens.

We put the deck furniture back in place on the newly refinished deck. Sugar the Weather Dog got into the "Bone Zone" and for her that was like getting an inheritance from a long lost relative. She did have a problem earlier in the day, as she needed extra walk time when I peeled off to go to the dentist. It seems as though when either Mary or I have something to do, she knows it and won't "Get down to business."

In sports, the boys in blue are back to their usual ways as they lost 2 - 3 to the Mets. My beloved Red Sox reversed that score as they beat the Twins 3 - 2.While not yet in first place, it seems as though they might have righted the ship. The Tigers also won, by the slimmest of margins, 2 - 1 over the Rangers. The Caps, lost by a score of 0 - 4 to the team from Bowling Green. A nice bit of rhyme I think. The Red Wing await the Blackhawks later today.

So overall, we should have a quiet day. Kites, guitars, and more walking. As I've noted before, this is a great town for walking. I must listen to people calling Autotalk this morning and then I can get on with the balance of my day. I never fail to get amused by the people with their third engine and transmission in their 200,000 plus mile ancient cars. I think it is great that they keep them running. Then it's...Tea time and the day begins. Ciao.
