Good early morning GH. The current temperature here in my office is a very comfortable 70 degrees. Outdoors, the temperature is a bit lower at 59 degrees. According to the forecast from the National Weather Service, we are heading for a high of 72 with a minimal chance of precipitation. Sugar the Weather Dog spent some time in her hide-e-hole, as we did have some rain yesterday afternoon.
Mary and I went to the grocery store yesterday. I think that she likes to take me along because I am willing to run the cans through the redemption machine. She says she likes company, but if I were like Sugar, and had no thumbs, I doubt that I'd be as good in the company department.
We picked up a few things, and came home to drop them off. I was concerned that the concrete work I did on the outdoor entrance to the man-cave earlier in the day would be ruined by rain, but it survived nicely.
I had to start over on my knitting machine. I dropped a stitch somehow, and although Mary is an experienced knitter with needles, two, four, and circular, she has very limited experience with a knitting machine. The instructor on our knitting cruise last year showed me how to fix dropped stitches with needles, but nothing I could remember would have helped. Oh well, at this rate I should become an expert with the machine very soon.
Otherwise, Mary and I plan to go to the farmer's market today, the first of the year. No real needs, but Mary would like to get a tomato and a pepper plant for her container garden. That is the only thing about growing your own vegetables. You have to wait from 65 - 80 days for tomatoes. That is one good thing about lettuce, it matures more quickly and you can plant it sooner.
In sports, today is the Kentucky Derby. I'm waiting for Steph and Adam to get back to me on their picks. Black Onyx was a scratch, but the chance of winning for a 50 - 1 shot weren't very good anyway. The boys in blue dropped another one. The Red Sox got smoked by the Rangers, 7 - 0, but they are still solidlyn first place in their division. The Tigers squeaked past the Astros 4 - 3. The Caps had already played and lost earlier on Friday as I reported.
So, time for bed again and then...Tea time accompanied by what Mary has proclaimed her best effort on banana bread to date. I'll be the judge of that! Ciao.
