Good early morning GH, or is it good late night GH. I guess that it doesn't mater much, since by the time this hits the blogosphere it will be after midnight. Currently the temperature here in my office/music room is a very very comfortable 75 degrees. The outdoor temperature is 63 degrees, with a high expected tomorrow/today of 74 absolutely beautiful degrees. We aren't expecting any significant precipitation until Thursday, so I feel the need for some time on the GH channel tomorrow/today. Whoever said that "It doesn't get any better than this," was right. Sugar the Weather Dog, more about her day's activities later, is sleeping soundly next to the bed. I will be joining her and Mary soon, but the night has been so great that I thought I would stay up for awhile.

We did spend some time in the "Bone Zone" on Tuesday afternoon and of course, Sugar was in heaven. I gave her this huge bone and she was content for several hours as Mary and I worked in the garden of our palatial estate. We watered, planted a rose, did some transplanting, and I gave the weeds a thorough mauling. I am sure that there will be more weeds tomorrow, but that's to be expected.

I went to the doctor this AM, and my test results were all in the normal range. So, I really don't have to see the doctor for another year, but I made an appointment for six months out, just because. When seeing the doctor only costs a small amount, I figure that I will take advantage.

Mary and I worked in the kitchen today once I got back from the doctor. With the able assistance of our loyal Sous Dog, Sugar, Mary made a killer cole slaw, following an old family recipe which she ably augmented. I was supposed to pick up some bread downtown, but they only get it in on Fridays. So, when I got here, Mary was forced to make biscuits to go with our lunch. She wanted to make sandwiches, but as they say, when in Rome. Her biscuits were tasty, but they didn't seem to rise at all. When she made them the first time several months ago, they were perfect. She says she has to work on the process more.

Later she took a crack at some bread in the slow-cooker. It turned out as the recipe said it would, but the real test will come tomorrow. For dinner she made bean tacos. Let's just say that she usually makes killer tacos, but this time, something went wrong and they were not up to her usual standards.

I hear a train a'comin, it's rolling round the bend, oops, I was channeling Johnny Cash there. This one was headed south, with a few box cars and a few covered hopper cars, pulled by the same two locomotives that are assigned to ride forever on this railroad... oops, I was channeling again, this time that old cowboy ballad, "Ghost Riders in the Sky." Anyway, it was a short train on a short line.

In sports, the boys in blue hung on for a win over the Cardinals. The Tigers were rained out and will play a makeup game on Thursday afternoon. My beloved Red Sox lost 1 - 6 to Minnesota, but they are still in first place as are the Tigers. The Caps, mercifully had the day off. The Blackhawks beat Minnesota, 3 - 0. That's more like it. The Bulls play again tonight, with the hope they can once again outplay the Heat.

So, until I have more to say, I'll be seeing you down the trail. Thanks for riding with me. Adios pardners.
