Good early morning GH. I got up early to blog because I could. It is the special day that honors our veterans and that is reason enough. Here in the Weather Center it is 69 degrees, while outside it is 53 with the expectation of some showers by the time the sun rises. I hope the rain holds off long enough to let the parade pass. The greatest chance for showers comes on Tuesday, so if the weather is as predicted, which it seldom is, then we should be okay. We anticipate a high in the 60s.

Spoiler alert for those of you who recorded auto racing on Sunday, there were three. The Grand Prix of Monaco, the "Greatest Spectacle in Motor Racing," and the Coca Cola 600. Someone won each race, and to borrow from Forest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that."

Had a great day on Sunday. Sadly, the kids left early, but then I watched the auto races, and the day was sunny and bright outside. In short, the greatest spectacle in weather. I worked on the puzzle some after the early races and then we walked downtown to see what was up. We ended up at our favorite watering hole, so that was a nice close to the day.

Today, I have to let Sugar walk me downtown, watch the parade, and then put on my editor's hat for Mary. After that, a possible trip the "Bone Zone" seems in order. Maybe a little reading too.

In sports, as I noted earlier, there were three auto races. The boys in blue actually managed to snatch a rare victory from the jaws of defeat, 5 - 4 over the Reds. The Tigers beat the Twins 6 - 1 and they play again today, tis time against the Pirates, to honor our veterans. My beloved Red Sox eked out a win over the tribe from Cleveland, 6 - 1. The Caps beat those pesky Captains from Lake County, 4 - 2. The Red Wings and Blackhawks play later tonight in what is once again,  a decisive game.

So that's about it for Sunday's activities and Monday's plans. Sounds like a good long weekend to me. Tea time will be soon enough and then I can get on with my plans. Ciao
