Good morning GH. It has just passed 8:00 AM in "The City" and the sun is beginning to rise over the palatial estate. I have noticed that the days are getting shorter as the year drags on, and so sunrise is a few minutes later each day. We have a current temperature of 58 degrees under partly cloudy skies, as we head for our anticipated high of 78. One good thing about blogging after the sun has begun to rise, is that I can use personal observation instead of the Weather Channel app for my forecast. Of course, I can always rely on Sugar the Weather Dog for her usually accurate precipitation predictions when I can't actually see the sky at night.
Speaking of Sugar the Weather Dog, she and I spent some time in the "Bone Zone" yesterday afternoon and she was in hog heaven. From a dog's perspective, she must believe that it doesn't get any better than that, unless she is discovering new scents around "The City." Since the Sun was at its zenith while we were out there, she insisted that she chew while in the ivy patch. That meant that she was swarmed by the bugs as she chewed and that led to her scratching. Oh well, it's a dog's life.
Otherwise, I repaired the microwave light in Mary's kitchen after the bulb burned out. That necessitated a ride to the big box hardware/home-center for a replacement bulb. Here's the kicker, I had to ride my bike. It was a dirty job, but somebody had to do it. Mary was hard at work on what she assures me is a very boring, but necessary part of her job.
Sugar and I held down the fort as Mary worked and I am pretty certain that we had the better part of the duties. I read and finished my latest book, Sugar chewed, and the rest is history.
Mary finished up working in the late afternoon and then made a tuna and noodle dish based on a recipe that she found in one of her cookbooks. I liked it.
Today, I have to put my nose to the proverbial grindstone and do some highlighting for Mary. Talk about boring. However, this book is about the constitution and laws, so I am pretty certain that it won't be so bad.
In sports, the boys in blue fell to the Cardinals 1 - 6. The Tigers cruised past the Royals 6 - 3 on the strength of Max Scherzer's 18 and 1 winning record. My beloved Red Sox were involved in a controversial game with the Yankees, which they lost 6 - 9. Ryan Dempster appeared to throw at A-Rod and that induced the umpire to warn the benches. When Yankee's manager Joe Girardi complained, he was tossed out. The Caps fell to the Dragons 2 - 4.
So that's about it for now. I have to get to breakfast, walk Sugar, and then get to work. Ciao.
