Good early morning GH. I wasn't going to blog this early, but sometimes when you can't sleep it's best to just get up and go. We have a current temperature of 58 degrees as we head for a mostly sunny day and 82. There is slight chance of T-storms on Monday, but that remains to be seen.
The last time we had a storm, the tree in the backyard came down. That is supposed to be removed this morning. We have a man coming over and then Sugar the Weather Dog and I can return to our familiar place in the "Bone Zone."
Otherwise, I haven't been feeling as well as I would like. I think it is related to the weather or some bug that I picked up. Whenever that happens, I get a headache and a backache. So I guess that I will just have to wait it out.
I did get the laundry done yesterday, while Mary was working, so at least I earned my keep. Sugar and I went for a nice long walk in the AM and that was good for both of us. We hope to make another sojourn again this AM. Mary made lunch yesterday and that was tacos with cheese slices. We used to get those at that Mexican food chain that was prominent in the Chicago area for many years. Now they are mostly in the South and Southwest. I miss those tacos when I have had a long night.
Today, not much going on for me. I'll supervise the tree removal and that is about the extent of my involvement. I need to practice the guitar, but I think I'll avoid reading to minimize the strain on my eyes.
In sports, the boys in blue had a great lead in the top of the first, 6 - 0. Then their bats and their defense fell asleep as they once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in San Diego, 6 - 8. I won't even mention their record. The Tigers crushed the Mets 6 - 1 behind homers by Cabrera and Hunter. They have maintained their six game lead over the Tribe. My beloved Red Sox fell into a statistical tie with the Rays losing 0 - 2 because of one bad pitch by Lackey and a lack of run production by the offense. The Caps shutout the team from Bowling Green, 4 - 0.
In preseason football, the Bears were cruising in Oakland, but had to get strong late in the game to beat the Raiders 34 - 26. Jay Cutler had a good game that would have looked statistically better if his receivers could catch.
So that's about all for yesterday and today. Ciao.
