Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City."

Yesterday was even better than the day before. The sun was shining, and we reached a high temperature in the mid 60s. Today will be very similar, until the rains begin to fall in the late afternoon. Those rains are expected to continue into Wednesday. That's okay, as I finished many of my outdoor chores yesterday. I have more to do to get ready for winter, but I'll get to them as time allows.

I did spend some time at the laundromat yesterday getting the comforter washed and dried. I spent the time reading my book, so the time was productive if not exciting. While I was out, Mary washed, dried and replaced the other bedding articles. I think I got the better end of the deal.

STWD and I took the morning safari solo as Mary was busy on a work related project. Later she had to take part in preparations for a Webinar that she will actually be participating in on Wednesday. I have to be sure to ask her how to delete an entry from a new index I created earlier this morning. Our IT guru showed me the other day, but I forgot. Mary didn't finish her Webinar preparations until after 6:00 p.m. so we went out to dinner at the favorite watering hole.

I witnessed the southbound passage of locomotives 2057 and 2019 at 10:02 a.m. as they sped through "The City" at a higher than usual speed. They were towing a lone BC, eight CHCs, one GTC, along with three DBTCs bringing up the rear. We were out when the northbound run occurred, so I have nothing to report about that passage. We had traveled to Muskegon for some shopping before Mary's prep session.

In sports news, the Cubs Kris Bryant was named N.L. Rookie of the Year yesterday. With his home-run and RBI totals, along with his overall play all over the field, it really was no surprise. The Cubs manager Joe Maddon is expected to be named Manager of the Year later. Plus, Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta, with his 22 - 6 record and his low ERA of 1.77, is likely to be named the N.L Cy Young Award winner. The Bulls eked out a win over the Pacers 96 - 95. The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Ottawa Senators 4 - 3 in OT.

Later today, I have plans to read more, play with the girls, and do some indoor chores after the morning walk with the intrepid weather dog to pick up the newspaper. If time allows, I have one additional outdoor chore that I'd like to complete.

Later today, the sun will rise at 7:39 a.m. with thickening cloud cover as the rains come and then set at 5:19 p.m. Ciao.
