STWD and I took anabbreviated morning walk in the prevailing winds. We headed east and then south long enough to allow Sugar to do her duty and them stopped in at the newspaper box nearby to pick up the paper as the rains began to fall anew. We made it home and that was the last time either of us wanted to be outdoors.
Before we went out, I did get in some time with the girls
Mary made a great lunch composed of sandwiches and steamed cauliflower. I decided it was time to bake some spicy chickpeas and a pumpkin pie after lunch while Mary went upstairs to print out her latest project.
My pie turned out great, with a flaky crust and a spicy filling. I have some pictures to chronicle my efforts, along with a rare photo of the intrepid weather dog ans Sous chef.
The whole finished effort |
My "test" piece. |
The always handsome and camera shy STWD & STSD. |
Dinner was spaghetti mixed with garlic, olive oil, and diced tomatoes. I liked it as I always do. I watched the evening news and worked some crosswords while Mary did some business upstairs. I relinquished the TV at 8:00 p.m. and went upstairs. I texted with Adam and then watched some car shows on the TV in the media room. Mary spent time in her kitchen crafting some preparations for today's repasts. I actually stayed up late enough to have Mary join me in watching some late night TV after her labors of love were done in her kitchen.
That's enough for one day. The sun will rise at 7:34 a.m. and set at 5:22 p.m. In between, the winds are supposed to subside and the rain is expected to continue. T-storms are a possibility too.
I have no particular plans for today. My efforts at using my new computer will be enhanced by a visit with our IT guru via the internet. I have that aforementioned highlighting to begin for Mary. As previously noted, the book looks interesting. STWD and I will once again brave the wind and rain to take an abbreviated morning safari. Mary plans to join us as we travel to the newspaper box so that she can stop at the library to pick up some books for both of us. Later she has a chat session. Ciao.
