Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation, and perhaps, across the world. It is just after 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 37° under cloudy skies. Winds of 14 mph make it feel like 28°. Today's high-temperature forecast calls for 45º, with cloudy skies this morning and sunny skies this afternoon.

The sun will rise this morning @ 6:25 a.m. and it will set later @ 8:57 p.m.

That Lakeshore Flood Warning has been canceled, as winds have subsided to the point that they are no longer likely to cause further erosion.

However, there is a Small Craft Advisory in effect until 2:00 p.m. today. North winds of 15 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots and waves 6 to 8 feet, that will be subsiding to 4 to 6 feet by mid-morning today from Joseph to Whitehall. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. As always, inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

Why these conditions only rate that Small Craft Advisory and not a Gale Watch or a Gale Warning is a mystery to me. I guess that that will remain one of life's little mysteries.

Good news, the high-temperature tomorrow is forecast to reach 51º and Wednesday's high-temperature is forecast to reach 61º! Considering that the old planting date for outdoor gardens has always been Mother's Day, we are way behind schedule, at least temperature-wise. We'll have a few more days of sub-60º highs, but mostly we are there!

We took the fur-children for a short walk yesterday and noticed that the construction equipment has returned to the Community Center. I don't know if that's a good thing, but it is what it is.

We had a nice brunch yesterday, considering that we got up after 12:00 noon. It was nearly dinner time, but when one day blends into the next, the time has little meaning. Mary made something that I'd been wanting for several days, spaghetti with olive oil and garlic.

Dinner took her a bit more effort, as she made cucumber salad in a fashion that I think that I like better than the creamy style. Her dressing was just vinegar, sugar, and ??, but I liked it better. Once again, go figure.

One of my vegan Bratwursts with sauerkraut and that aforementioned cucumber salad.
In between, I took time to do some indoor chores and bake a loaf of English Muffin bread. Having all-purpose flour and yeast versus only whole wheat flour made for a much better outcome.

It tastes just as good as it looks.
In sports news, there isn't any news. No Major-League™ baseball, which as we know is life, so ergo, no sports.

We found time to complete Friday's crossword puzzle and it was one of those wherein the clues referred to pop culture and things of which we are mostly ignorant.

It was Mother's Day, so Adam and Steph called to talk to Mary. I joined in later, but after all, it was her day.

I did it! I put the finishing touches on my manuscript. I have a lot of editing to do, but it felt good to bring closure to my efforts after all these years. One of the positive's that came from this stay at home time.

As Mary's indexing editor, I know that editing is an important part of making a coherent and tight finished product. I'll keep my loyal readers updated on my progress with that part of my work.

One thing is for certain, I've improved my typing skills. I still don't have the traditional finger positions on the keyboard, but with spelling and grammar check available, the little errors are generally pointed out immediately. Unfortunately, those apps cannot fix the errors in my own train of thought when I write, hence the need for editing.

Today, we have numerous boxes to unpack, one should be the fertilizer for my seedlings. The rest of the packages are like unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning, small and large surprises. We could look back at our orders, but where's the fun in that?

Otherwise, we should be able to get out with the fur-children. We all need to walk more, so that's a good thing. Ciao.
