Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2;30 a.m. in "The City."

Dateline GH.

Yesterday was another one of those days where events got away from me. I did get in some reading, I did get in a tiny amount of time with the girls, and I did get to walk with STWD. However, I didn't get to the man-cave, and I didn't get to a few other things that I had planned. All in all, it was a mostly better day than I have been experiencing of late.

In sports, the boys in blue won another from the Giants, this one by a score of 8 - 6. Some pundits in the sports world are making bold statements like, "The rebuilding Cubs have arrived one year ahead of schedule." If the boys make it to the playoffs this year, the pundits may be right. The Tigers and my beloved Red Sox once again played each other. The Tigers won the game by a score of 7 -6. Two teams on the wrong end of a rebuilding program, judging by that score. The Caps fell to the Kane County, IL Cougars, 0 - 5.

Speaking of the morning walk with STWD, I was right about the length of time that the walk would last. By the time she and I returned from the newspaper office, Mary had already been to the farmer's market, done her picking of produce, and returned just after the intrepid weather dog and I got home. I was okay with that, because it was such a gorgeous day to walk, slowly.

I also baked my first loaf of bred with the assistance of our Cuisinart™ bread machine. If you follow the recipe, it is no problem. My banana nut bread is more labor intensive.

With further reference to the weather, the NWS is forecasting a chance of showers for later today. I emphasize chance, because it is unlikely that those showers will materialize. Otherwise, the NWS is forecasting no additional showers for several days. Looks like more watering is in order for the gardens of the PE.

I have no specific plans for today. I once again have to put my editor's hat. The project as I understand it is going to require me to be extra diligent. Mary said she will explain more later today, so I won't look at it until she does.

The sun will rise later this morning at 6:43 a.m. and set at 8:56 p.m., under a waning crescent moon. Ciao.
