Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just passing 3:00 a.m. in "The City."

The sun will be rising on a mostly cloudy day at 6:42 a.m., before it sets at 8:57 p.m. In between, there is no rain in the forecast. Tomorrow, there is the possibility of T-storms, according to the NWS, but I'll have to wait for STWD to settle the issue.

Yesterday, she didn't react to the two rain events that we had. The first a few drops fell as I was going out to water after lunch, but the amount of rain that fell could not be measured. Later in the afternoon, while Mary and I were at the Post, a more measurable amount fell, but not enough to make a real difference. However, neither of the events negated my need to water.

Early yesterday morning at 10:08 a.m., the southbound train rolled through. Locomotives 2019 and 2057 had in their wake, three CHCs, two box cars, and 12 DBTCs. While I was out in the back forty of the PE yesterday afternoon tilling the soil and tending to the gardens, at 1:12 p.m., the northbound run made its way along the tracks. The same tandem of locomotives was towing 14 CHCs, one DBTC, and than 17 additional CHCs. The cars all seemed to be unladen.

In sports yesterday, the boys in blue tried to squander a 5 - 0 lead, but finally defeated the Giants 5 - 4. The Tigers were not so lucky, as they lost to my beloved Red Sox, 2 - 7. The Caps had a reverse score, as they defeated the team from Kane County, IL, the Cougars, 7 - 2.

As I often note, lately, my days get away from me all too often. However, I felt like my entire week seemed to get away from me. It is already Saturday, and I can't really describe what I accomplished. Oh well, being retired makes that a bit more palatable However, since there are only so many days ahead of me, I can't decide whether wasting my days or using them as fully as possible is a good or bad thing. Only time will tell.

Today, the morning walk will include Mary accompanying STWD and me on our morning safari, before Mary takes a turn towards the farmer's market. Sugar isn't welcome there due to the large influx of people. She and I will continue to the newspaper office and pick up the morning paper. We'll probably meet Mary on her way back. Sugar takes so long to explore the world going in either direction, that Mary may even beat us home.

I plan to get to the man-cave. Yeah I know, that's my regular plan, but this time for sure, maybe. I'll work the crosswords from yesterday and today, and then play with the girls and read a book. Oh oh, this is starting to sound all to familiar.

I think I had best get on with my morning and go back to bed. At least there, to paraphrase what Gen, Patton was purported to have said during a tour of his command of U.S. troops in N. Africa, he found a man lying on the floor. When Patton's aide rousted the guy and asked him what he was doing he reportedly said, "Getting some sleep." Patton's response went something like this, "Leave the man alone, he is the only guy here he seems to know what he is doing."

So that being said, Ciao.
