Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 5:00 a.m. in "The City." The current view out the weather is dark, so a visual forecast for today is currently impossible. So I'll rely on the NWS for assistance. Given their track record on recent precipitation events, that will be strictly a guess on their part. Current;y, they are showing a low temperature of 60° for this early morning hour. Their forecast calls for a high of 77° with a possible stray shower or T-storm today. Good thing I watered yesterday, LOL. As of now, the NWS is forecasting a T-storm for Friday. If it is like Monday's forecast I'll be watering again tomorrow.
Yesterday was another one of those that got away. We made it to the big-box home center and the grocery store, but that was about it. A tad of playing with the girls, and watering. No newspaper reading, no crosswords, no book reading, and no really productive activities. Oh well, when you don't get up until late in the morning, that's what can happen. Today for sure, maybe, after the morning walk with the intrepid weather dog.
We finally got together with the water meter installer yesterday. The events leading up to that are best left unsaid. The actual installation took about 20 minutes and the new meter can be read by some electronic means. This feature has been the subject of concern for local residents due to the radio waves or something. If people thought about the WiFi spots all over town and in their homes, the daily use of microwave ovens that happens in nearly every restaurant, not to mention the broadcast TV and radio stations and the radios used by first responders, the water meter's radio waves would be the least of their concern.
Today, I'm going to get to all of my activities as I noted earlier. I have to do that editing for Mary, but after that, the time is mine. STWD will want some time, and I may have to make my world famous banana nut bread to make use of the over ripe bananas, but that delights Sugar and I get a positive outcome and a happy dog. What's not to like?
In sports, the men in blue beat a team they are supposed to bet, the Brewers 6 - 3. The Tigers lost to the Royals, again, 1 - 6. Even if Miggy comes back soon, the Tigers will not be in the playoffs this lost season. No pitching, a fired GM, and a new GM who will not be able to undo the damage of recent losses to free agency, too huge contracts for past their prime pitchers, and no farm system that will help any time soon. Alas, for the Tigers, there is no next year. Just my luck to get another team to follow that is on a treadmill to nowhere. The immortal Yogi Berra might have said, "It was over before you it began." My beloved Red Sox lost to the Marlins, 4 - 5, while the Caps were losing to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 3 - 5. Not a good day in baseball Casey.
Today the sun will rise at 6:47 a.m. and set at 8:57 p.m. Ciao.
