Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 1:00 a.m. in "The City." We have a current temperature of 70° as we near the overnight low of 69°. Later today, we'll see 85° with high humidity and of course, no rain. That may or may not come until Tuesday. So, tomorrow is another day of watering. Today, we have an ozone alert, so outdoor activity has been said to be dangerous. So guess what, I won't. Good thing I watered yesterday and washed the front porch and it's attendant furniture.

It could be worse, we could be living in CA or AZ, where the temperatures either tied or exceeded previous records in the 115° range. Dry heat they say. Plus, the smoke from the wildfires is even worse than an ozone alert. We had considered the Portland, OR area when I retired. Phew, dodged a bullet there.

STWD just stopped by to visit. Apparently, we forgot to let her out last night, so being the well trained dog that she is, she made her needs known. I doubt that she would have gone out if she didn't really have to go. That of course netted her a reward of one biscuit broken in half.

Yesterday was Walk the Beat here in GH. I stopped in at several venues before Mary joined me at the library to see Uneven Ground, a local Traditional Celtic Band. Some of the members who play with that band also play with the Irish Jam session I go to once per month. I liked their performance, as did Mary. Later, we stopped at JWs to see a short set by a local band called Barefoot Sunday. They have a great sound, so we hope to see them in other venues in the future.

Walk the Beat is a great chance for performers to showcase their talents and genres. The venues were scattered throughout GH, but mostly in Center Town and East Town. For Mary and I, that works just great, because that places them near the PE.

In sports, the men in blue won again over that other team from Chicago, 6 - 3. They now have a record of 67 - 48, but alas, they are still stuck in third place in their division. The Tigers also won over the Astros, 4 - 2. The are also in third place too, with a sub .500 record of 55 - 60. My beloved Red Sox had a football score of 22 - 10 as they routed the Mariners. Sadly, they are languishing in fifth place with a way sub .500 record of 52 - 64. The Caps are in second place during this second half of their season, following another win over the Beloit, WI Snappers, 8 - 5. Their league record in the second half of the season is 28 - 19. Overall for the season, their record of 61 - 55 is good for third place in the league.

Today, as previously noted, I plan only indoor activities. No trainspotting, no watering, no nothing that requires me to be outdoors other than a morning walk with STWD.

I'll get the time to play with the girls and do some reading too. That's all good for me. Mary has to work, not so good for her.

The sun will rise at 6:51 a.m.and set at 8:45 p.m. Ciao.
