Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."
Typically at this early/late hour, the internet stops working for a short period of time, but it is back now. Plus, It looks like I have resolved half of my computer glitches by changing both the monitor cable and the place where the cable plugs into both the monitor and the computer. Now if I can just find an answer for the concerns I have over the music service I use turning itself on whenever I try to use my Bluetooth™ speakers, life will be all good.
In sports, let's just say that it was an 0 - 4 kind of day, as the Tigers, the men in blue, my beloved Red Sox, and the Caps all lost. I'm not ready to embrace the NFL™ preseason just yet, and the college season has yet to start. That begins when the NIU Huskies, the MSU Spartans, the U of M Wolverines, and the Northeastern Illinois University Golden Eagles, oops, they don't have a team anymore, begin their seasons.
The MSU Spartans start on Sept. 4, against the Broncos of Western MI. Michigan begins it's season on Sept. 12, against the Beavers of Oregon State. The NIU Huskies begin play on Sept. 5, against the UNLV Rebels. I have great hopes for the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears again this year too.
The men in blue may once again return to post-season play this fall, after a multi-year absence. That assumes a small amount of good fortune. Unfortunately, the Tigers and my beloved Red Sox won't be there.
Yesterday I spent a lot of time doing as little as possible. It was just too hot and humid outside. STWD and I took a short morning walk and then we were in for the day. I watched the NASCAR™ Sprint Cup Race from the Michigan International Speedway, but that was about it. Mary worked and I lazed.
Today, I will get to watering once again after I walk with STWD. Chances are that I'll get the chance to do some trainspotting too. It is expected to be hot and humid once again, so I will probably stay inside and try my hand at baking some French Baguettes. I have the bread machine, I have the recipe, and I have the time.
I may get down to the man-cave to put the new battery into my small helicopter. It requires soldering, so that may wait until Tuesday, since the battery is coming from out of town by a commercial delivery service or the USPS™
I want to get started on learning to play the harmonica I got last winter in Florida. Once you start, you have thirty days of free internet lessons after you first sign in. So, I have been putting the lessons off until I can devote enough time.
The rains/T-storms are not expected until late tonight and into Tuesday with percentage chance of 60%. Right now, we have a current temperature of 74° as we drop to the overnight low of 66°. Then after the sun rises at 6:52 a.m., the temperature will peak out at 83° with high humidity. That's why I took my walk early yesterday with the intrepid weather dog. I will do the same today, and then get that watering in. The sun will set at 8:44 p.m., and in between, I'll do some baking, playing with the girls, and ? Ciao.
