Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 66° as reported by the NWS that feels like 66° with a slight wind out of the southeast @ 3 mph. Our overnight low is forecast to drop to 62°, the same as the low for Tuesday night  The NWS is forecasting a high-temperature for today of72° which is a few degrees warmer than yesterday.

In addition, the NWS has issued a Dense Fog Advisory from St. Joseph to Manistee that will be in effect until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. Visibility will be limited to 1/4 in some areas. As of now, a glance out the WW shows no fog in the immediate vicinity, so...

The sun rose this morning @ 6:05 a.m. and it will set tonight @ 9:23 p.m.

The 33 - 27 Cubs and RHP Adbert Alzolay, 4 - 5, are not having a good visit to the West Coast. The Cubs dropped 3 out of 4 to the Giants in Frisco, before last night's loss, 4 - 9 to the 37 - 25 Padres. With Javier Baez out of the lineup, the Cubs struggled to put runs on the board. Coupled with a rough first inning for Alzolay who twice loaded the bases while thankfully allowing one-run to score, the Cubs just couldn't overcome the jinx that seems to plague them on a road trip to the west. Tonight's game with RHP Zach Davies, 2 - 3 on the mound for the Cubs begins @ 10:10 p.m. EDT.

The 24 - 35 Tigers had the night off before opening a series tonight against the Mariners @ 7:10 p.m., when LHP Matthew Boyd, 2 - 6, takes the ball. The Tigers have also placed 2016 American League Rookie of the Year, RHP Michel Fulmer on the 10-day IL with shoulder tightness. Given Fulmer's injury-plagued history, Tommy John surgery two years ago, following a right-knee injury before that, this latest injury has both Fulmer and the Tigers worried.

My beloved, 37 - 23 Red Sox and RHP Hirokazu Sawamara. 2 - 0, took one from the 25 - 34 Marlins, yesterday, 5 - 3. The Sox and LHP Martin Perez, 4 - 2, welcome the 33 - 26 Astros to Fenway for a game tonight @ 7:10 p.m.

The 18 - 13 Caps had last night off. Tonight, on a Peanut Free Night at the Lake Michigan Credit Union Ballpark, the Caps entertain the visiting 14 - 16 Lansing Lugnuts for a 7:05 p.m. start.

We had an interesting day yesterday. The appliance repairman came by to repair our ailing gas stove and after a short visit, all is well.

Later, Mary took STWD for a short walk and then Mary, Ginger, and I walked over to Mary's Auxiliary Vast Garden for a quick watering session. That was before scrambling home to avoid getting Ginger wet as the rains tried to make a dent in the drought-like conditions. We made it home just in time and it looks like we had enough rain to avoid watering anything today.

When we visited the Auxiliary Vast Gardens, I took along Mary's Olympus TG-6 Tough Camera for a few pix there and along the way.

Give me a camera, and I can find a pic to take. The flower gardens @ St Patrick & St. Anthony Catholic Church, for example.

This area has always drawn me and a camera like a moth to a flame.

As I noted, the Auxiliary Vast Gardens are located behind the local Salvation Army offices.

The Salvation Army offices are adjacent to this wooded area.

It appears to be a sort of "No Man's Land."

While Mary watered and Ginger relaxed, I wandered in search of subject material, like this cabbage in another plot..

Try as I might, the dandelions seem to win every time. I took this shot using the microscopic function of Mary's camera.

This one too. Clover can be beautiful in a closeup shot.

One flower on the Marigolds that we planted the other day, as photographed with that microscope function.
Yesterday, we got all of the upcoming appointments for my yak treatments scheduled. It was tough fight, but we did it. The end result should be worth the effort.

Today, we have only the indoor chores to accomplish and I also plan to make some vegan Italian sausages to go along with the dinner I asked Mary to make. With luck, I should finish reading the book that Mary rightfully thought I would enjoy, The Paris Library, by Janet Skeslien Charles, set in two time periods, the 1930s and 40s in France, and the American West of Froid, MT  in the 1980s. I learned that the town of Froid, MT was named for the French word for cold.

I found Mary's recommendation to be on target and I am enjoying the read that is only a slight divergence from my usual genres. Mary is reading the book I just finished by Stacy Abrams, While Justice Sleeps. She is enjoying that book too. A twofer I guess.

That's all folks! Ciao.
