Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is j ust past 10:30 p.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 77° under fair-skies that feels like 77° with a wind out of the south @ 15 mph. We had several alerts in effect, including a Beach Hazard Statement, a  Small Craft Advisory, and an Air Quality Alert, all of which have now expired.

We had a great day today. In fact, Mary was outside tonight enjoying the evening. We accomplished the indoor chores, we finished a crossword puzzle, and I read more of my latest novel. Later, after we visited Mary's auxiliary Vast Gardens, I made vegan Italian meatballs which were a nice adjunct to our dinner.

While we were at the aforementioned auxiliary gardens, I snapped some pix, as promised. But first, I have to share a pic of Sugar the Weather Dog, AKA, STWD, in all of her "Cutest Dog on the Planet" glory and both of our Fur-Children, resting.

Sugar the Weather Dog

The Fur Children at rest.

Moving right along, as promised, here are some pix of Mary's auxiliary Vast Garden, plot #18.

Pre watering

Surrounded by fallow fields with an upside down chair for Mary in the background.

From the opposite end.

A shot of more of the entire garden area.

Other plots are in use and well tended.

Same here.
A long view of the gardens, and the storage shed for communal equipment

The contented gardener watering.

Of course, as we headed home and at the manse, I found other subjects for pix.

A beautifully restored Amphicar.

The South Haven irises are still blooming.

I forget the name of this flower in our home-based vast gardens, but I got a great closeup.

As seen in our own front lawn, a visiting rabbit was happily munching away.

But enough for one blog. The sun set tonight @ 9:20 p.m. It will rise again tomorrow @ 6:06 a.m. and set tomorrow night @ 9:21p.m.

The 24 - 34 Tigers defeated that other 35 - 23 team from Chicago earlier today, 4 - 3. LHP Tarik Skubal, 3 - 7 looked sharp as he and he Tigers' relief pitchers held that other team down. Tomorrow, the afternoon start begins @ 2:10 p.m. with RHP Jose Urena, 2 - 4, on the mound for the Tigers.

My beloved, 35 - 23 Red Sox, defeated the 31 - 28 Yankees, 7 - 3. Tomorrow night's game with RHP Garrett Richards, 4 - 4, versus those same damn Yankees begins @ 7:08 p.m. tomorrow night.

The 32 - 26 Cubs fell to the 37 - 21 Giants tonight, 3 - 4, as the Cubs relied on the long ball for an offense and the limp bat of Jason Heyward, just off the IL. Neither strategy proved successful. Heyward went  0 - 4. The Cubs finish up their series tomorrow @ 4:05 p.m. EDT. when RHP Kyle Hendricks, 6 - 4. tries to salvage one win for the Cubs.

The 16 - 12 White Caps were crushed like the shells of the banned peanuts usually found in the LMCU ballpark, 11 - 0, by the 15 - 14 Great Lakes Loons. There is no joy in West Michigan tonight. The Caps take the field again tomorrow against those same Loons @ 1:05 p.m.

Tomorrow, Mary and Ginger will walk to Mary's auxiliary vast garden for more watering, while I stay behind with STWD, whom Mary will have given a short walk before then. I'll be baking my world famous Funfetti cookies, so that when Mary and Ginger get back on what promises to be a very hot day, they will be ready for a tasty snack. Well Mary will, Ginger will get a biscuit treat.

Otherwise, we have no plans, for once. Ciao.
