Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 8:00 a.m. in "The City", where the current temperature is 54° and it feels like 54° with a slight 1 mph wind out of the east. The sun rose this morning @ 6:07 a.m. and it will set later @ 9:19 p.m.

We had an interesting day yesterday. I completed two crossword puzzles, did some reading, and we talked to our son from an undisclosed location.

In addition, Mary picked up some things at that big-box nearly  everything store with Ginger and they took a walk through Duncan Woods. After they returned home, Mary  took STWD for a short walk around the block. While Mary and the girls were out, I spent some time in the man-cave working on this year's incarnation of a support for my window A/C unit. It came out great after some trial and error. Now all I have to do is apply a coat of exterior paint and get it and the A/C unit installed.

Later in the afternoon/evening, we traveled to the location of Mary's latest vast-gardens project, an extension garden I guess, the community garden plot behind the Salvation Army Center here in GH. With the help of one of the local coordinators, we selected our plot and put Mary's name on it. Then it was off to that big-box home center for some additional plants for our home-based vast gardens. We also stopped in at the City Farmer for some additional supplies for our newest vast garden. More supplies to go for that.

By the by, while we were at the City Farmer, I picked up another quarter for my National Parks collection. This one was a Marsh Billings Rockefeller quarter for 2019. I am so behind.

The 32 - 23 Cubs swept a good team, the 34 - 23 Padres, with a convincing 6 - 1 win yesterday. RHP Adbert Alzolay, 4 - 4, got the win with assistance from closer Craig Kimbrel, who has all of his pitches working this year. His fastball hit 100 mph yesterday! The Cubs are off for an extended West Coast road trip beginning tonight in San Francisco against the 34 - 21 Giants. The Cubs will send RHP Zach Davies, 2 - 2 to the mound for a 9:45 p.m. EDT start. Did I mention, that the Cubs lead the NL Central by 1 1/2 games?

My beloved 32 - 23 Red Sox provided no run support for losing LHP Nick Pivetta, 6 - 1, as they Sox fell to the Astros once again, 1 - 2. The Sox and the Astros play again this afternoon @ 2:10 p.m., as LHP Martin Perez, 3 - 2 gets his next start.

The improving 23 - 32 Tigers were off yesterday before they travel to Chicago for a game tonight against that other 33 -22 team from Chicago. RHP Casey Mize, 3 - 3, takes the mound for the Tigers @ 8:10 p.m.

All good things must come to an end, as the 15 - 10 Caps were upended by the 13 - 13 Great Lakes Loons last night, 4 - 5. Oh well, another chance to start a winning streak tonight @ 7:05 p.m.

Today, I have an afternoon appointment with the Physicians' Assistant at my orthopedist's office. My yak is not doing as well as it has in the past following my recent injections. So I am hoping for a different approach. Sigh.

Otherwise, we have no specific plans. I want to let my yak rest for a day before we, and I use that word we in the group form, tackle Mary's extension garden. Ciao.
