Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 11:00 p.m. in "The City", where the current temperature is 77° and it feels like 77° under partly-cloudy-skies with a slight wind of 6 mph out of the northeast.

My DTWS is showing a current barometric pressure of 29.45" of Hg and rising, while the NWS is reporting30.00" of HG and also rising. Close enough for government work as they used to say.

The overnight low is forecast to fall to 66° and the rains came and watered all of our vast gardens nicely. The additional rain/T-storms that were in the forecast are no longer showing, so STWD was more accurate when she came down from her Hide-E-Hole @ 7:00 p.m., indicating that there would be no additional chance for storms.

Tomorrow, the high-temperature is forecast to reach 79° with an overnight low of 65°. The sun will rise @ 6:05 a.m. and set later @ 9:23 p.m.

We had to get up early for us this morning so that Mary could drive me to the orthopedist's office in Muskegon for some test injections in my yak. As of now, my yak is feeling good, so that is a good sign that a further, more long-lasting procedure should produce good results too. Here's hoping.

Once we were done in Muskegon, we came back by way of Spring Lake, where we stopped in at Tanglefoot Park, the site of a former RV campground, for a photo-shoot. I'll add some of those pix here as well as some I took yesterday in our own vast gardens located in the back-forty of the manse.

A dewy rose in Mary's rose garden, not to be confused with that other rose garden in D.C.

A long view of that same rose.

Once again, I'm not sure what this flower is, but it looks nice as it grows near our deck.

You can't fish from the docks in Tanglefoot Park at this time of year, but this man was fine with his spot.

Sometimes, a lone feather is a nice subject.

As was this unused for two years firepit.

These ducks on the dock had themselves in a row.

I used these tied-up boats as a frame for Spring Lake.

This island is closer than it appears.

The 35 - 27 Cubs took another game from the 37 - 27 Padres this afternoon in San Diego, 3 - 1. Starter Jake Arrieta pitched well, but the win went to LHP Rex Brothers, in relief. The Cubs have tomorrow off before a short homestand versus their 31 - 30 rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals beginning @ 2:20 p.m. EDT. No Cubs pitcher has been announced for that game.

My beloved 37 - 25 Red Sox fell to the 35 - 26 Astros tonight, 3 - 8, as RHP Nathan Eovaldi took the loss, as his won-lost record dropped to 7 - 3. Tomorrows game between the beloved and the Astros begins @ 7:10 p.m. when LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, 5 - 4 takes the mound for the Sox.

The 25 - 39 Tigers fell 6 - 9 with the visiting 31 - 32 Seattle Mariners in 11 inning. The Tigers play the Mariners again tomorrow @ 1:10 p.m. when a pitcher named "TBD" goes for the Tigers.

The 16 - 15 Whitecaps lost one to the visiting to be 16 - 16 Lansing Lugnuts, 1 - 8. The Caps face the Lugnuts again tomorrow night @ 7 :05 p.m.

By the by, I picked up two additional National Parks quarters today. One I could immediately place in my book, the other, well actually two of the same coins, are Washington Crossing the Delaware minted for 2021 and New Jersey. Unfortunately, the ones I need for 2021 are not of this variety. I already have one for New Jersey from 2017.

Additional research indicates that these George Washington quarters will be minted in limited quantities and will be replaced in 2022 by a new series. Perhaps a valuable quarter of which I have two.

Tomorrow, we have a carpet-cleaning session scheduled following the over one-year gap caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. We've kept up, but a professional cleaning will be better than our own efforts. That's about it for one day. Ciao.
