Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City."

This will be a rather mild weather report. We have a current temperature of 70° under clear-skies that feels like 69° with a 1 mph wind out of the east. Today's high temperature will be 79° under mostly clear-skies with an overnight low expected to be 64°. Saturday, there is a chance for afternoon T-storms with only a 38% probability. The sun will rise today @ 6:05 a.m. and set later tonight @ 9:24 p.m.

Last night was a raucous night in Boston for my 35 - 25 Red Sox, as they had numerous lead changes with the visiting 31 - 29 Astros. The Astros are in 2nd place in the AL West. The Boston win went to LHP Darwinzon Hernandez, 1 - 2 in relief. The beloved are also in 2nd place, only in the AL East, one game behind the surprising Tampa Bay Rays. Tonight's game with the visiting 4th place in the AL East @ 31 - 29, Toronto Blue Jays, begins @ 7:10 p.m. as RHP Garrett Richards, 4 - 4, looks to build on his improvement of late.

The 26 - 36, 4th place in the AL Central Tigers, defeated the visiting 31 - 33, 3rd place in the AL West Mariners, 8 - 3, as reliever RHP Jose Jimenez secured the win, 1 - 0. Jimenez is one of a number of young arms that the Tigers are counting on to be the future of a rebuilding team. Tonight's game versus the visiting 38 - 24 other team from Chicago. That other team is in 1st place in the AL Central. Tonight's game versus that other team from Chicago, begins @ 7:10 p.m. when LHP Tarik Skubal, 3 - 7, goes for the Tigers. Skubal is another of those young arms that should portend a bright future for the Tigers.

The 35 - 27, tied for 1st with the Brewers in the NL Central Cubs, were off yesterday following that west coast road trip and a win over former Cubs starter, Yu Darvish. The Cubs are still not sure who the starting pitcher will be for today's game which begins @ 2:20 p.m. versus the visiting 32 - 30 3rd place in the NL Central, St. Louis Cardinals. In any case, a series with the Cardinals is always a must see for baseball fans of any age.

The 2nd place in the Eastern Division of the high A level, 17 - 15 Caps crushed the visiting 5th place in the East Lansing Lugnuts, 10 - 0. The Caps are a close 1.5 games behind the 1st place 19 - 4 Dayton Dragons. Tonight's game versus the Lugnuts begins @ 7:05 p.m.

We ran a few errands yesterday afternoon as we waited for the newly cleaned carpets to dry. We meandered to the east and south and found our way to Eastmanville, MI. We have lived in West Michigan for nearly 10 years and have often wondered what there is to do at the Eastmanville
Farm there. Eastmanville Farm is one of the many parks in the Ottawa County Parks system.

Well, we can cross that off of our to do list. About all we espied there wildflowers and some college students doing an archaeological dig on the forgotten cemetery there, where many of the county's poor were buried in unmarked and forgotten graves. Eastmanville Farm was once the site of the Ottawa County "Poor Farm." Today, there are trails for people and horses and that's about it. I did take some pix while we were there.

Once a working farm, today Eastmanville Farm is just a park.

The equestrian trail @ Eastmanville Farm has the distinctive odor of horse manure about it.

But wildflowers grow in abundance there.

Which make for good photo subjects.

As do the rocks that pop up everywhere in Ottawa County.

Today we have the pleasure of returning the furniture to its rightful place atop the now dry carpet. One benefit of having the carpets cleaned is that it forces you to rearrange furniture and toss out unneeded things that you have accumulated over the course of a pandemic. Mary already began that process late Wednesday night, but we can continue today.

One good thing, my recent yak treatments have shown that with a more permanent fix, my yak can feel more like it used to. So that's a definite benefit. Otherwise, more reading, more music, more puzzle solving, more retirement. Ciao.
