Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and
around the world. It is just past 7:00 a.m. in "The City."
We have a current temperature of 53º under cloudy skies. A
wind-speed of 13 mph makes it feel like 49º. The wind-speed has once again become a factor in the actual feel of the outdoor temperatures.
Today's
high-temperature
forecast of 62º will be accompanied by a 100% chance for
showers throughout the day, into the evening and perhaps tomorrow too. .No more teasing. A look out the WW proved to me that the showers had arrived. No watering for a few days. Yippee!
The sun will rise this morning @ 7:17 a.m. EDT and it will set later this evening @ 8:06 p.m. EDT.
My DTWS is showing a Barometric Pressure of 29.42" and falling, while the NWS in GR is reporting a Barometric Pressure
of 30.02" and rising. The conflict makes me wonder why the showers are in the forecast for today.
The 23 - 18 Cubs took the final game of their series from the 17 -
16, 2nd place Cardinals, 5 - 1 last night. Starting RHP Kyle Hendricks, 5 - 4, pitched very well through eight innings for the win. Right-fielder Jason Heyward underwent tests yesterday for the lightheadedness and shortness of breath he experienced on Sunday. Cubs'
manager David Ross, spoke with Heyward yesterday and Heyward says he is feeling better.
The Cubs acquired a couple of players yesterday off of waivers, utility infielder Idemaro Vazrgas and Billy Hamilton, an OF..
The Cubs welcome the 18 - 23 Reds for a game tonight @ 8:15 p.m. EDT when RHP Mike Mills, 3 - 3, takes the hill.
My
beloved 14 - 28 Red Sox were mercifully off yesterday before traveling to Philadelphi for today's game against the 19 - 17 Phillies @
4:05 p.m., when LHP Martín Pérez, 2 - 4, takes the mound for the
Sox.
The 18 - 21 Tigers are looking to the future, oh my, as they lost to the 26 - 17 Twins. Yesterday I said, don't give up on the Tigers yet, they still have some
game left in them. Now, I'm not so sure. Today's game versus the Brewers in Comerica Park, will feature RHP Spencer Turnbull, 3 - 2 for the Tigers @ 7:10 p.m. EDT.
We finally decided to go walkabout at the Lakeforest Cemetery with the fur-children. Ginger gets so excited, that she is hard to contain on the ride. STWD is too old to get super excited, but she still enjoys the chance to walk, albeit for shorter distances than Ginger.
I decided to take my camera along for some pix and I got some great ones. We were in an older section of the cemetery and so the sniffs for the fur-children and the markers for us were different.

Tucked in the back corner was this very old marker from the 1800s.

Brian has some friends who like to celebrate and not mourn his passing.
Why? Because!
We got very close to this grazing deer.
Not as close, but easliy seen through my telephoto lens.
These two were not very concerned with us nor our fur-children.
Just interesting.
Two brothers who passed way too soon.
Once again, just interesting.
Their children erected this monument to their parents who loved their pets.
A marker to denote the Spanish American War that we'd never noticed before.
Very nice.

Today, we should finally be able to do what we'd planned for yesterday, nothing! More puzzle solving, more music, more crafting, but most of all, more reading and TV viewing. Ciao.
