Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and around the world. It is just past 5:30 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 53º under mostly-cloudy skies. A wind-speed of 7 mph makes it feel like 51º. Today's high-temperature forecast of 71º is seven degrees warmer than yesterday and I should be able to get back into my "Summer Uniform", shorts and a T-shirt today and for the next several days.

I still don't have a need to water, as we had showers late yesterday and more showers are in the forecast for tonight and into Saturdy when the forecast from the NWS calls for a mix of showers and T-storms throughout the day. Given the low- temperature forecast for tonight of 58º, sleeping should be great, that is whenever I get around to it.

The sun will rise this morning @ 7:21 a.m. EDT and it will set later this evening @ 8:01 p.m. EDT.

The 26 - 19 Cubs topped the 19 - 25 Reds last night, 8 - 5. The heads-up play of rookie Nico Hoerner on the bases and the return of some punch in the middle of the lineup by Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant, meant that the Cubs could actually rally for a win. However, in spite of manager David Ross' pronouncement that he just keeps filling in the same line-up card every game, he may need to look for some time on the pines for SS Javier Baez, who went 0 - 5 on a rain soaked night @ Wrigley. Baez is a whiz in the field, but he is swinging too hard at the plate, again.

The Cubs play the Reds again tonight @ 8:10 p.m. EDT when LHP Jon Lester, 2 - 2, goes for his next win.

My beloved 16 - 29 Red Sox played just well enough to win last night's game against the 28 - 16 Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa Bay, 4 - 3. The infield play and hitting of 3rd baseman Rafael Devers who got his 6th home run in 6 games, and rookie 1st baseman Bobby Dalbec, who nailed his 6th home run in 10 games, looks like the real deal, at least until opposing pitchers figure out how to pitch to Dalbec.

The Sox and the Rays battle again tonight @ 6:40 p.m. when RHP Andrew Triggs, 0 - 2, starts for the Sox.

The 20 - 23 Tigers split a doubleheader with the 19 - 18 Cardinals in St. Louis yesterday, losing the first game and adding to the loss column for rookie LHP Tarik Skubal, 2 - 12. Ouch!. Game two had a better outcome, \s the Sox won that one 6 - 3 for RHP José Luis Cisneros, 2 - 2, who took over for Jordan Zimmerman who pitched wll before he departed from what may be his last start for a while. The Tigers play agains that other 27 - 16 team from Chicago tonight in Chicago @ 8:10 p.m. when rookie RHP Casey Mize, 0 - 1, tries to get even with the league.

I read more yesterday, worked two easy crossword puzzles and went to the dermatologist for a check on my recent surgery. That went well, but the doctor discovered another mole on my earlobe and one on my chest. Neither should present a problem.

Otherwise, we tried a new show, Robin Hood, as a replacement for our recent obsession, The Man In The High Castle. Right now, the jury is out, but I think the rotund lady is singing on Robin Hood. One more episode should tell the tale, so to speak.

Mary traveled solo to the big-box everythng store to pick up of a few items. I stayed behind and talked with the fur children after modeling the new hat that Mary knitted for me, as seen in this pic of yours truly with STWD in the foreground. Note my wearing of long pants for the first time in many months.

Looking good, especially my newest hat that I had a hand in creatiing, at least the pom pom on top.

Today, we hope to finally settle in and do nothing at last. We've been trying, but have yet to achieve our goal. I'll play more music and we may take a sojourn to the cemetery with the fur-children, weather permitting. Ciao.
