Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:00 a.m. in "The City."

I hadn't planned to get up, but when Ginger gets up, I get up, and so here I am. I don't anticipate being up long, but that is subject to change at any time.

We have a current temperature of 60° under rainy skies. I didn't know that it had rained until I let Ginger out around 1:30 a.m. In fact today, the NWS is forecasting an 80% chance for rain that kicks in again around 7:00 a.m. and doesn't abate until about 2:00 p.m. For me, it means that I won't have to water, but for our little family, it may alter our plans for outdoor activities.

We had planned to go to the P.J. Hoffmaster State Park near here to see the Vintage Camper Show, with Ginger in tow. But, I won't go to a place where the wet weather probably means that the ticks will be attending too. Not good for Mary, Ginger, nor me. At any rate, the sun will rise today @  6:05 a.m. and set later @ 9:23 p.m.

I have 1/2 of a trainspotting report, the southbound half, because we had to start our daily round of activities before Ginger and I could catch the northbound run. We did espy MMRR locomotives 2025 and 2019 @ 8:45 a,m, heading south towing nine CHCs, 16 DBTCs, two GTCs, and one very rusty tank car that would not reveal its original paint scheme.

As noted, we had to get our day started, so we dropped Ginger @ daycare and then headed to "The Bell" for  some sustenance. We traveled north and waited about one hour to hear from the doctor who said that if I am feeling alright, I can do my yak strengthening exercises and also allow the chiropractor to minister to my yak. That is as long as he doesn't use typical chiropractic techniques that involve cracking. Our chiropractor is into pressure points and massage, so it should be fine. We also made a stop at The Camera Store to get an additional battery for our camera and a new shoulder strap too.

Sports/baseball news yesterday was mostly bad. The only winning team was the 36 - 24, 2nd in the NL Central Cubs, who are now a season-high 12 games over .500 following their win over the 31 - 32 Pirates yesterday afternoon. The Cubs and the Pirates play again today @ 2:20 p.m. EDT.

It was all downhill after that. My beloved 43 - 21, 2nd in the AL East Red Sox, got a masterful pitching performance from their ace, Chris Sale, who threw several fastballs that topped 100 mph. In addition, he had 10 strikeouts. However, with Mookie still on the DL and J.D Martinez sidelined by a sore back, the Sox had no offense and fell to that other team from Chicago, 0 - 1. That other team is in 4th place in the AL Central with a record of 21 - 40. The Sox and that other team play again this afternoon @ 4:05 p.m.

The 30 - 35 in the AL Central Tigers got their own pitching gem from Michael Fulmer over seven innings yesterday. With the score tied @ 1 - 1, Fulmer was relieved and his replacement served up a late inning three-run home run and the Tigers lost, 1 - 4 to the 1st place Indians. The Tigers and the Indians play again today @ 4:10 p.m.

The 31 - 29 Caps are in free-fall, as they fell to the 30 - 29 South Bend Cubs, 1 - 4. The Caps are struggling and they will be playing a double-header today to make up for an early-season rain-out, with game one @ 1:05 p.m. and game two @ 7:05 p.m. Yesterday's loss was not an auspicious way to begin a weekend series for the Caps.

That's it, I'm done for today. We will stay inside and relax today. No watering, no sightseeing, and no bike riding. Just short walks with the fur-children and little else. Ciao.
