Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 12:00 a.m. in "The City."

I don't know about Beantown, but there is joy in GH. The Pirates were defeated by the Cubs on their way to the World Series. The final score in the game was 4 - 0, with Jake Arrieta continuing his pitching dominance through one more game. Next up, Friday night in St. Louis against the Cardinals who won 100 games in the regular season. How long have I waited? It has been 56 years and counting since my first game at the Friendly Confines.

Trainspotting yesterday was interesting. The southbound train being towed by locomotives 2019 and 2057 rolled through at 9:35 a.m. 17 CHCs, and one BC. At 3:28 p.m., the northbound run rolled by with the same EMD GP 38 locomotives in reverse order towing two BCs. 13 CHCs, five DBTCs, and three DWTCs filled with hydrochloric acid.

We didn't get up until late yesterday morning because there was no need. We listened to the radio like we were retired. Well, I am, and Mary is between indexing projects. I took the morning walk with STWD and Mary went to Health Hutt for some items to complete her needs for the terrific lunch she made. It was eggplant ratatouille. It is definitely a keeper. I'm even starting to like mushrooms. Shhhh, don't tell Mary.

I spent some time playing with the girls and fine tuning some music for my traveling book. I did read the newspaper and do the crossword, but that was the extent of my reading efforts. I also spent some time cleaning up the kitchen from Mary's activities. She did the dishes, but I cleaned the stove top, the sinks, and emptied the dish drainer and the dishwasher. Dinner was hot dogs and ballpark style nachos.

My knees are starting to feel better, and that's all good.

Today, we may travel north to do a few errands, but that's a game time decision. Speaking of games, did I mention, Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

STWD and I will take another walk later today. I don't see a need to get up before 10:00 a.m. I'll stop in at the guitar store to check if the A/C adapter I ordered has arrived. No rush, but it never hurts to check.

Otherwise, there is still an expectation of precipitation for later tonight. A few bolts of lightning are even possible, Nothing is expected until late tonight. Our current temperature is 48° with an overnight low of 46° expected. Later this morning, the sun will rise at 7:50 a.m., and then set at 7:16 p.m tonight. Oh, did I mention, Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Ciao.
