Good morning GH. It is nearing 6:00 a.m. in "The City." What am I doing up at this hour? I honestly don't know, but since I am, I'll just toss in a few words of blogging.

In weather news, the current temperature of 48° is the nadir of the overnight hours. We'll rebound to 62° later today. Cloudy skies will prevail. We are safe from precipitation until Thursday and the temperatures are expected to be comfortable for the next several days.

In sports, the Cubs are now sporting 96 wins after a 1 - 0 shutout of the Brewers. If they can win the series and the Pirates lose, thee Cubs can host the Wildcard game @ the "Friendly Confines." Here's hoping. Their final game of the regular season is today at 3:10 p.m. The Tigers are doing their best impression of the Cubs of years past, as they lost to that other team from Chicago, 3 - 4, going out in October with a whimper rather than a bang. My beloved Red Sox are also fading, as they lost to the Indians, 0 - 2.

In mostly better sporting news, the Michigan Wolverines in a turnover filled game, still defeated the Terrapins of Maryland, 28 - 0. The MSU Spartans had an early lead that they squandered, and eked out a win over the Purdue Boilermakers, 24 - 21. Sadly, the NIU Huskies fell hard to the Central Michigan Chippewas, 19 - 29. Ouch.

Otherwise, yesterday was uneventful. A few household chores, a walk to the farmer's market, and completion of my man cave project. However, it turns out that the appliance service person will have to visit, as the dishwasher is still leaking. Oh well, barring any unforeseen surprises, the cost of repairs should be considerably less than a new dishwasher.

Today, reading from the book Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel. Naturally, I had to check out the large print version at the library. If all goes well, on Monday night, we'll be seeing a short play and hearing the author of this book reading excerpts from her work based on the story set in the Great Lakes area . GH is the first stop on this tour.

Otherwise, that's enough for one day. We have an index to final edit, and then we can send it on its way. I am going to try watching the Cubs game if it is on TV.

The sun will rise at 7:45 a.m.and set at 7:21 p.m. Ciao.
