Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 4:00 a.m. in "The City." We had a very windy day yesterday. as predicted. Every now and then the NWS gets it right. As of now, the temperature is 38°, the low for tonight. Later today after the sun rises at 8:16 a.m., we'll get to today's high of 53° under cloudy skies. Before the moon rises, but after the sun sets at 6:39 p.m., we should dry out a bit. However Saturday, Halloween, the rains return and then the ghosts and goblins will likely be cold and wet as they visit the various venues downtown and the local residences for their booty.
Yesterday was a day to laze about. STWD, who is now feeling normal again, and I took the morning safari as Mary visited the Bookman and Health Hutt. Both Mary and I wish that Sugar could have let us know before the visit to her doctor that she would be fine, but alas, that was not to be.
Speaking of Mary's shopping trips, at one of her stops, she fortuitously received a 2015 Everglades "D" National Parks Quarter in change. That is the one I have been seeking for my collection for many months. How did it finally get to GH? I don't know, but I'd like to thank the mythical Greek god of money, Plutus, and Mary for my good fortune. Mary is always on the lookout in my collecting endeavors.
My collection is now in need of only two additional "D" and "P" National Park Quarters for the year 2015. The first from Delaware that commemorates the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, and the second, with the same mint markings for New York's Saratoga National Historical Park. By way of explanation, the United States mints coins in Denver, hence the "D" striking, or Philadelphia, for the "P" striking. It just takes a while for the quarters minted in Denver to migrate to the East. Our tourist season often aids in that migration.
I spent a few minutes in the man cave yesterday doing a bit of cleaning on our old tea kettle before we donate it to Goodwill™. We prefer to let them make it available for reuse rather than toss it into the waste stream.
We did get out late yesterday in a vain attempt to get something from our dentist's office for Mary. However, we knew they were consolidating their offices to the one in Holland and they were already closed at the GH location. So instead, we stopped in at our favorite watering hole for dinner. A nice trade off to me.
Home where my sleepiness overcame me and so I decided to make an early night of it.
No trains yesterday, but that means that they will be by later today. Since this is Friday, both train runs will likely be early.
Otherwise, I need to remind Mary about procuring that previously mentioned item from the dentist's office. Mary has a chat session this afternoon at 2:00 p.m., so if she can't arrange for a drop shipment from the dentist's office, we'll have to travel there earlier in the day. I know that she has part of an indexing job due in soon. Plus, another is due in a couple of weeks.
All things being equal, we'll take the morning safari with the intrepid weather dog around 10:00 a.m. this morning. Ciao.
