Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just nearing 5:00 a.m. in "The City." I slept in this morning. The sun will rise @ 6:20 a.m. and set at 9:02 p.m. later tonight. In between, Mary will be working and I'll be jamming. Oops, an unintentional homage to the late Bob Marley.

Our weather today is expected to be warm, but cloudy. A high temperature of 74° will be pleasant enough, but the day may also yield some showers in the early afternoon. That's just in time for my walk to the library for the jam session. Fortunately, that's all of a block and one half, so I should make it without incident.

Yesterday, I was the consummate "House Husband." While Mary was busy working, I put on my apron and baked a pie, vacuumed the house, and did the laundry. All of that after the morning walk with STWD. Retirement can be exhausting.

I returned from the morning safari to make my own lunch. It was the latest in the forage series of eating experiences. Mary did make dinner, hot dogs and corn. My veggie dogs were on a hamburger buns, because the last hot dog bun went to Mary. We then set out to go to the local bread store that was supposed to be open until 7:30 p.m. At 7:20 p.m., they were closed. So, we stopped at the Post to see Sally and the regular cast of characters, good people all.

Worthy of note, is that my scratch made apple pie turned out great. Next time I need to add a little four to tighten up my filling, but overall, it tastes great and Mary liked it too.

In sports, the boys in blue pulled out an overtime win over the Pirates, in the bottom of the 12th. With the bases loaded, the Pirates right fielder tripped on a simple pop fly, and that allowed the winning run to score. The boys are now sporting a record of 20 - 15 and they are in second place. The Tigers defeated the Cardinals in St. Louis last night, 10 - 4. They now have a record of 22 - 14 and are also n second place. My beloved Red Sox succumbed to the Mariners, 1 - 2, the reverse of the score from the previous game. With a record of 17 - 19, they are languishing in third place in the A.L. East. The Caps are on a roll, three wins in a row, defeating the Lansing Lug Nuts, 11 - 5. They remain four games back in the Midwest League Eastern Division, with a record of 17 - 18.

Today, I'll be jammin', reading, and foraging after the morning walk with STWD. Hopefully, the showers won't morph into T-storms and make Sugar's day miserable. Ciao.
