Good evening GH. I thought that since it was still Mother's Day, that I'd like to dedicate this blog to Mary, my wife of nearly 42 years and Adam's mother of nearly 41 years.

I also thought that it would be nice to add in some lyrics from an old song written and performed by Glen Campbell, Dreams of the Everyday Housewife. Not that Mary is the everyday housewife, far from it, but because in many ways, I am thankful that just about 42 years ago, she made a choice, and it was me.

So let me add in those lyrics that I mentioned.

She looks in the mirror and stares at the wrinkles, that weren't there yesterday. And thinks of the young man that she almost married, what would he think if he saw her this way. She picks up her apron, in little girl fashion, as something comes into her mind, slowly starts dancing, remembering her girlhood, and all of the boys she had waiting in line.

Oh, such are the dreams of the everyday housewife, you see anywhere anytime of the day. An everyday housewife, who gave up the good life, for me.

If you are interested in the entire song, here is the link to YouTube™ for the original Glen Campbell recording on his album Wichita Linemanhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LonUQ5o-vLc

Elsewhere, the aforementioned everyday housewife is in her kitchen, cooking something that smells very good. I may find out later that it was "Nothing Special", according to Mary, but it sure smells good up here in the Weather Center/Music Room/my office.

In sports, the boys in blue took it on the chin, losing to the Brewers, 2 - 3. The Tigers are still playing, and they were tied with the Royals at 1 - 1 in the bottom of the fifth in Detroit. My beloved Red Sox defeated the Blue Jays, 6 - 3 earlier today. The Caps had the day off. The Bulls are now tied in their playoff series with the Cavaliers 2 - 2, after losing by a buzzer beater, 84 - 86 earlier today.

I was hard at work all day on some full contact highlighting. The book is interesting, so it has been a labor of love. I also found time to transcribe some music for my travelling book.

The weather today was as predicted, rainy. We found a window earlier this morning to take STWD for her morning constitutional, We got back just in time as the skies opened up shortly after we got home. We seem to have missed the T-storms, but tomorrow looks like a clone of today's forecast, with the possibility of severe storms.

It looks like I'll have time for more highlighting tomorrow. Mary will continue her efforts on the other book of over 1,000 pages that I highlighted previously. That book was interesting too, but it was a lot of highlighting. I think I went through three or four highlighters in the process.

Not much else on tap for me. With another break in the weather, I may get STWD out for her regular morning walk.

The sun will rise at 6:25 a.m. and set at 8:57 p.m tomorrow. Ciao.
