Good morning GH. It is just past 9:00 AM in "The City" and the current temperature is 27 degrees under cloudy skies. Snow is sporadically falling. We expect a high of 29. Sugar the Weather Dog is sleeping on the couch as I write.

Speaking of sleeping, I actually made it all night in the bed. I was up watching TV part of the time, but I didn't sleep in my chair. I call that progress. Today is my first visit to the orthopedist since my shoulder surgery. It is time to have the external sutures removed. I also get to schedule some physical therapy appointments while I am in the building. A different venue, but the same location. Again, progress.

Mary and I plan to finish and mail our holiday cards today. I like the feeling of community that comes from that. We'll do that before we leave for the doctor and the barber, who plans to go on vacation until next year. His vacation starts with the close of business tomorrow. I like his style. He only opens three days per week for eleven hours each day normally.

We may or may not get to our favorite watering hole while we are out. That depends on how tired I am by the time the other activities are done. When you haven't been overly active for nearly two weeks, you tend to overestimate your physical resources.

The train went by about 4:00 AM today. Only one, and not on a regular schedule.

Adam sent an email the other day announcing the arrival of his new car. He is going larger and higher as a concession to his aching back, which he says he inherited from me. Hey, I inherited it from my mother and where she got it, I don't know. If I could give it back, I would. Mary and I often discuss how children get all of the things that they are from their parents. Unfortunately, that often includes the weak things too. Eyes, hearing, ears, bad backs go with voice, height, hair color, etc. Oh well, at least he got a lot of good things too.

Tea time is soon. Mary is off to the shower room and I am sitting here watching television. I watch the news, but too often it just makes me want to watch old movies. Who doesn't like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers?

Sugar's dog walker will be here soon. Sugar has grown accustomed to her daily long walks at a faster pace. She will have them for a few more weeks or months, I think. A lot depends on the intensity of the winter weather.

Looks like that's about it for yesterday and today. Ciao.
