Here I sit at 7:30 AM on a Monday morning.  The sun is beginning to rise over GH and the day looks to be shaping up fine.  Yesterday was a bit disappointing, with the postponement of the Daytona 500, but they are trying to run it again today, weather permitting.  Forecasts indicate that that too may be iffy.  I liked Saturday's race where the eventual winner did what they tell drivers to do, drive towards the spot of the wreck in front of you, because it will be gone by the time you get there at 170 MPH. I'm not much of a NASCAR fan, but I like to see the season get off to a good beginning.  The first day of spring for me coincides with the first race at  Daytona, and the opening of spring training when pitchers and catchers report.  Everything else is just filler.  After all, baseball is life, and auto racing is there to be enjoyed.  It is just better when the cars don't have fenders and doors.  Sugar and I will take a long walk this morning if we find that the weather is cooperative.  We always like to go to Central Park and beyond, proceeding down Washington and towards the riverfront.  Tomorrow is the first election day that Mary and I will experience here in GH. We don't know what to expect, but it is a good practice session for the fall election day.  I have no particular expectations, it should be exciting though.  Otherwise, it is time to get the day started.  Tea time.
