Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 5:30 a.m. in "The City", where the current and "Real Feel" temperatures are both 71°, with a strong wind out of the southwest @ 13 mph under partly cloudy skies. That sounds a lot like the forecast from yesterday.

We had another blow yesterday afternoon, as T-storms moved through the Tri-Cities area and forced STWD to once again repair to her hide-e-hole.

Also like yesterday, we have two concurrent alerts in effect.

First, is another Beach Hazard Statement for Allegan, Mason, Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa, and Van Buren counties until 6:00 p.m. tonight. Strong currents and high waves have caused the DNR to recommend that swimmers stay out of the water.

We also have another Small Craft Advisory also in effect until 6:00 p.m. tonight, with winds up to 25 knots and waves up to five feet in height.

The NWS is not forecasting any more storms today, but over the previous two days period, we received about three inches of rainfall. I did not go for my P/T appointment yesterday due to the hazardous driving conditions.

The sun will rise this morning @ 7:07 a.m. and set tonight @ 8:22 p.m.

Sports news yesterday,

The 55 - 74 Cubs traveled to Toronto and lost to the 69 - 58 Blue Jays in 11 innings, 4 - 5. Rookie RHPJavier Assad looked sharp once again, as he blanked the Blue Jays during his time on the mound.

The Cubs and the Jays reprise their matchup tonight @ 7:07 p.m. with RHP Marcus Stroman, 3 - 6, on the mound for the Cubs.

My beloved 62 - 67 Red Sox game versus the 66 - 61 Twins didn't go so well for the Sox, as they fell to the Twins, 2 - 4. However, rookie RHP Brayan Bello, looked sharp for the Sox too, as he worked out of a jam and held the Twins at bay while he was in the game. The Sox and the Twins play again tonight @ 7:40 p.m. with RHP Kutter Crawford hurling for the beloved.

The Tigers entertain the Mariners in Detroit for a 7:10 p.m. start with RHP Matt Manning on the bump for the Tigers.

The Caps travel to Ft. Wayne, IN tonight, for a game this evening versus the Tin Caps @ 6:35 p.m.

Today is my birthday. I'll skip the starting date for that once-a-year event. Let's just say that I've traveled farther down the highway of life than I ever expected.

Mary gave me a wonderful card that summarizes my life very nicely. She also gifted me two magazines to foster my budding artistic endeavors in the area of water coloring. Now I have more motivation to up my game, so to speak.

I have appointment number two this afternoon for my knees. After today, I'll only have three visits to make.

I slept in yesterday after letting the fur children out and returning to bed. STWD is hanging in there and Ginger, well she is Ginger, full of the pep and vigor that is appropriate for her age.

Today looks to be a day for print-reading, collective ear-reading, crossword solving, newspaper reading, and that aforementioned doctor's appointment for me.

Mary will do her own ear-reading as well as our collective sessions too. That's enough for today. Ciao.
