We had quite the blow last night, as T-storms moved through the Tri-Cities area and forced STWD to her hide-e-hole. Even in her dotage, she still knows when it is time to retreat to the bathroom for safety.
Speaking of the weather, we have two concurrent alerts in effect.
First, is a Beach Hazard Statement for Allegan, Mason, Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa, and Van Buren counties until 11:00 p.m. tonight. Strong currents and high waves demand that swimmers stay out of the water and off of the piers.
Second, we have a Small Craft Advisory also in effect until 11:00 p.m. tonight, with wind gusts up to 25 knots and waves up to five feet in height. Yes my friends, the Surf is Up on the "Big Lake."
The NWS is forecasting that storms may return to our area later this morning around 10:00 a.m. and continue until late afternoon when I have to go for my P/T appointment.
The sun will rise this morning @ 7:06 a.m. and settonight @ 8:24 p.m.
Sports news yesterday was mostly bad, as all of my teams lost, with the exception of the Tigers, who won over the Rangers, 9 - 8.
The Cubs travel to Toronto for a game tonight versus the Blue Jays, @ 7:07 p.m. with rookie RHP Javier Assad on the mound for the Cubs, who will be leaving two players behind due to the Canadia restrictions regarding Covid-19. I do not understand the thinking of those two "professional" players over their reluctance to get vaccinated.
My beloved Red Sox head over to MN for tonight's game versus the Twins @ 7:40 p.m. with RHP Brayan Bello taking the mound for the Sox.
The Tigers had a rare win yesterday and they are off until Tuesday, when they entertain the Mariners for a 7:10 p.m. start with RHP Matt Manning on the bump forth Tigers.
The Caps fell hard yesterday, 1 - 7, to the visiting South Bend, IN Cubs, 1 - 7. The Caps travel to Lansing for a Tuesday evening game versus the Lug Nuts @ 6:35 p.m.
I almost forgot to mention that the Lions also lost, 9 - 19, to the Steelers.
Otherwise, I used my soon to be famous rain making trick early yesterday morning. I watered everything here in the vast gardens of the Palatial Estate. That guaraanteed the rain that fell later.
I also baked more of my also soon to be famous Funfetti Cookies. I had hoped to do more, but I only managed those two tasks along with walking STWD and then later participating in my Sunday night ukulele session.
Mary was far more productive, as she cross-stitched, made two meals, ear-read, and walked with Ginger down to the waterfront and back.
We collectively ear-read more of book #6 in the Maggie Hope series too. Ciao.
