Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 6:15 a.m. in "The City", and in this blogosphere, where the current temperature under fair or partly cloudy skies is 76° with a wind out of the west @ 12 mph having a negligible effect on the
Real Feel temperature. In Detroit, which is on the east side of the state, the current temperature is 82°. We are enjoying the effects of Lake Michigan.
The high-temperature tomorrow after sunrise @ 7:09 a.m. will reach 81°. After the sun sets @ 8:21 p.m. we expect a low temperature of 70°.
There is good news for all people of a certain age. The latest Covid-19 vaccine booster has been approved. Now we have to await shipment to our little corner of the world.
Ginger made her spa appointment earlier. Then we picked her up and moved on to the Lake Forest Cemetery and the Grand Haven State Park for some pix. I also took some additional shots here in the vast gardens of the manse too.

Sadly, these children passed all too quickly. |

One side of this monument commemorates veterans of the Spanish American War of 1898. |
|
While the opposite side is dedicated to all veterans. |
|
Whereas this monument is to the veterans of the American Civil War. |

I jumped out of the car for a shot of this unknown freighter leaving the channel |
|
Moving slowly out into Lake Michigan, en route to her next port of call. |
|
While not one of the largest we've seen, she was still a great sight. |
|
When we were at the State Park around 4:15 p.m., the signs warned against swimming. |
|
But, people were still strolling the south pier. |
|
Ginger was just enjoying her post-spa visit. |
|
The dunes are still very fragile in the State Park. |
|
The channel was empty today, just this lone fisherman before the Labor Day crowds descend. |
|
In late August/early September, our Eye Candy giant hibiscus is in full bloom. |
|
I like this shot of a single giant bloom. |
|
And this is one of our annuals. |
Otherwise, today was mostly ear-reading, newspaper reading, crossword solving, and retirement.
A baseball and sports update as of 6:30 a.m. 9-01-2022
The Cubs closed out August on a high note, with a 7 - 5 win over the Blue Jays in Toronto. They needed to get that vibe a bit sooner this season. But, wait til next year.
The Cubs travel to St. Louis for an 8:15 p.m. Friday night game versus the Cardinals.
My beloved Red Sox will be home tonight following their win over the Twins yesterday. The Sox are scheduled to meet the Rangers @ 7:10 p.m.
The Tigers are also planning for next year too, as they show the rookies the MLB™ ropes. How many veterans will be in Detroit next season? Wait and see. But, they once again fell to the Mariners yesterday, 3 - 5. The Tigers and the Mariners close out their series today @ 1:10 p.m.
The West MI White Caps are only three games back in the MWL East, following their 6 - 4 win over the Tin Caps. The Caps and the Tin Caps play again tonight @ 7:05 p.m.
Today, I have what is hopefully my final P/T session and then I can get back to being retired on a more regular basis.
I am still painting, reading, making music, and anticipating whatever comes my way.
Mary is still stitching and ear-reading too.
By the by, today is our 49th wedding anniversary. Time flies when you are having fun. Ciao.
