Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 7:00 p.m. in "The City."

The current temperature under mostly-cloudy skies is a sultry 79°. Although, with 67% RHI and a wind out of the west at 12 mph, it feels more like 83°!

We were supposed to get a lot of rain today, but that forecast from the NWS fizzled, so we got just enough rain to force the postponement of our deck resealing. That has now been rescheduled for next week.

We still have both a Beach Hazard Statement and a Small Craft Advisory in effect until 11:00 p.m. tonight for the lakeshore counties from St. Joseph to Manistee.

Swimming and boating will be dangerous due to strong currents and winds of 15 - 25 knots and waves up to six feet.

It is possible that there will be scattered T-storms late Tuesday into Wednesday, that may, or may not, morph into strong T-storms Wednesday night. I'm not holding my breath.

The sun will set tonight @ 9:06 p.m. and rise tomorrow @ 6:37 a.m. before setting once again @ 9:06 p.m.

We had a great time taking pix as the Coast Guard Ships arrived today around 3:00 p.m. In addition, we saw lots of dogs, old cars, people, and the CoastGuard helicopter.

Yes, Grand Haven is Coast Guard City USA!

As always, people waited in their boats for the arrival of the ships.

And they lined the piers too.

The crowds were enthusiastic and large.

Even the dogs were glad to welcome the ships.

The CG helicopter scouted for the ships.

As always, the first ship arriving showers the channel with water cannons.

Then each ship docked near Coast Guard Station GH.

As I noted, the dogs were happy too.

As we returned from our CG ship welcome, I harvested the first of our large tomatoes from the vast gardens. Many more to come.

Tomorrow, I have another P/T appointment and in my absence, Mary will be assisting with the indoor chores. We are continuing our collective ear-reading as well as our solo print and ear-reads too.

I won't repeat the baseball news, except to say that the Cubs have started to trade away players to contenders, receiving pitching prospects in return.

Otherwise, Mary continues to cross-stitch and I have continued to be retired. Ciao.
