Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers of America.
We have a current temperature of 41° that feels more like 39° with a wind out of the north @ four mph. The sun rose this morning @ 6:27 a.m. and it will set this evening @ 8:55 p.m. In between, we'll see a high -temperature of 58°, which is about eight degrees warmer than yesterday and also tomorrow's forecast high-temperature of 50°.
Quickly in baseball news, the now 17 - 16 Cubs eked out a win over the 13 - 19 Pirates to notch the Cubs' fifth straight win. Matt Duffy came off the bench and got a single which plated the winning run. Today's pitcher is expected to be RHP Kyle Hendricks, 2 - 3, when the Cubs and the Pirates take the field for a 2:20 p.m. EDT start.
The 10 - 24 Tigers finally beat a slightly better 12 - 26 Twins team yesterday, 7 - 3. The Tigers are still not a good ball team. Today's game will begin @ 1:10 p.m. and feature LHP Matthew Boyd, 2 - 3, on the mound for the Tigers.
My beloved, 21 - 13 Red Sox, had production up and down their line-up, as they defeated the hapless 15 - 18 Orioles, 11 - 6. Today's game begins @ 1:05 p.m. EDT, when RHP Nick Pivetta, 4 - 0, takes the ball from Sox' manager Alex Cora.
We spent some time in the vast gardens yesterday after completing our indoor chores. The fur-children were outside too and enjoyed another dental chew treat. After we gardened, we read and enjoyed the sunshine.
For dinner, Mary used a recipe for a vegan cheese sauce that was delicious when coupled with her world famous spaghettirole casserole. We also found time to watch two additional episodes of Primeval.
Today, we'll be running some errands, but mostly resting and retiring. Ciao.
