Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 9:30 p.m. in "The City", where the current temperature is 63° under partly-cloudy skies. It feels like 63° with only a slight wind our of the west @ 3 mph. T he overnight low will drop to 50°. Tomorrow's high is forecast by the NWS to reach only 62°, a drop from today's high of 68°. The low will be a cool 52°. The sun will rise tomorrow @ 6 :19 a.m. and set later @ 9:03 p.m.

Baseball news today was not unpredictable, as the 19 - 20 Cubs and RHP Kyle Hendricks, 3 - 4, toppled the 14- 26 Tigers and their LHP Matthew Boyd, 2- 4, by a score of 5 - 1, to close put their series in the Motor City, The Cubs came away with two wins versus one loss. Sadly, the Cubs are just not playing like a championship team. Of course, neither are the Tigers. The Cubs come home to the Friendly Confines for a game tomorrow night @ 7:40 p.m. EDT versus the visiting 16 - 20 Washington Nationals, as Cubs' RHP Adbert Alzolay, 1 - 3, takes on former Cubs, LHP Jon Lester, 0 - 1.

The 14 - 26 Tigers are rebuilding and LHP Matthew Boyd, 2 - 4, pitched well enough, but the Cubs brought their hitting shoes to Comerica Park today and the result was another loss in what is likely to be a long season for the Tigers. The Tigers travel to Seattle for a game tomorrow night against the 21 - 20 Mariners, as RHP Casey Mize, 2 - 3, tries to go even with the league @ 10:10 p.m.

My beloved 25 - 17 Red Sox didn't fare any better than the Tigers, as the Sox fell to the As. 5 - 6. The Sox and LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, 5 - 1, are off until Tuesday night when they travel to Dunedin, FL, the current home park for the Toronto Blue Jays due to the closure of the border between the US and Canada. The Sox will start their game @ 7:37 p.m. EDT.

The 5 - 7 Caps fell to the 4 - 7 Loons today, 4 - 7. The Caps are off until Tuesday night when they play the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in Grand Chute, WI in Neuroscience Field.

I practiced my harmonica this morning and after lunch I made some vegan bratwursts and Italian burgers. Mary made two of the burgers with tasty tomatoes, Vidalia onions, and vegan American cheese that melts for dinner.

We traveled to Ottawa Sands Park today for a photo-op. Mary took along her trusty Olympus TG-6 Tough Camera and I had my own Olympus digital camera. We both took some excellent pictures, so now I have to choose which to include. I'll start with Mary's efforts and then segue to my own photos.

I was sitting on a lakeside bench when Mary ventured further south to take this shot across the lake.

This shot was taken atop that hill I chose not to climb.

I especially like this shot.

As well as this one from the east side of the lake.

As you can see, Ottawa Sands is very near Lake Michigan.

These people had walked to the other side of the lake.

Blue skies and catch and release fishermen across the lake.

Mary taking a picture of me taking a picture of her. Her future plans call for her to circumnavigate the entire lake.

No words are necessary.

A small beach with some driftwood.

I captured this young woman through the grasses as she approached the beach.

Just a nice angle.

A telephoto shot of that driftwood on the beach.

I was at the bottom of that hill shown in Mary's pix when I shot this one.

Lest you think that we weren't busy yesterday, we planted a large number of plants in our various gardens. Here are the rose bushes we bought and which Mary placed. I dug the holes while Mary was digging weeds elsewhere. The new roses are located in our parkway garden. The Gerbera daisies on the front steps of our Palatial Estate were planted by Mary in another session of gardening last week.

They will  ultimately fill up the planters.

Our new rose bushes.

Tomorrow, I plan to take it easy. I have to, as I don't have quite the stamina I had in my younger days. More reading, more music, more crossword puzzle solving, and more retirement. I suspect that Mary's plans are of a similar nature, minus the music. Ciao.
