We have a current temperature of 46° under clear-skies that feels like 42° with a wind out of the west @ seven mph. Our high today reached 53° and our low tonight will be a brisk 36°. Tomorrow's high will be about two degrees warmer @ 55° under sunny-skies with an overnight low of 38°. But, Thursday's high is forecast to reach 58° and by Friday, we should finally be able to put any 50° temperatures in our rearview mirror and stay in the 60s from then on. Tomorrow, the sun will rise @ 6:25 a.m. and set tomorrow evening @ 8:57 p.m.
Bad news if you are a fan of the 17 - 18 Cubs. They lost to the 19 - 14 Indians 2 - 3, as RHP Adbert Alzolay recorded his third loss against only one win. The Cubs' leading hitter, Kris Bryant, fell ill during the game and was removed as a precaution. Tomorrow, the Cubs and the Indians play their next game @ 1:10 p.m. EDT as RHP Zach Davies, 2 - 2, goes for the Cubs.
The 10 - 24 Tigers, made it to 11 - 24 tonight, as they rallied in the bottom of the 9th to win the game, 8 - 7 and hand the win to reliever LHP Gregory Soto. 2 - 1. They were leading the 16 - 17, Royals in the game @ Comerica Park 7 - 0. Tigers' starter, LHP Matthew Boyd, 2 - 3, should have gotten even for the season tonight, but the Royals tied it in the top of the 9th. The Tigers managed to squander a seven run lead before their rally. Tomorrow night's game will begin @ 7:10 p.m. when RHP Casey Mize, 1 - 3, goes for the Tigers.
My beloved 22 - 15 Red Sox lost to the 22 - 15 As, 2 - 3. I had my fingers crossed, but it did not go well for the beloved. Tomorrow, the Sox and the As tangle once again in Fenway Park beginning @ 7:10 p.m. when LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, 5 - 0, takes the mound.
The 2 - 4 West Michigan Whitecaps lost big-time to the 2 - 5 Great Lakes Loons, 1 - 9. Tomorrow nights game begins @ 6:35 p.m.
We accomplished our indoor chores, I watered the plantings in our vast gardens, and I made my second of five visits to my orthopedist for my semi-annual knee shots. In and out in about 15 minutes. I also read more of my latest novel, Serpentine by Jonathan Kellerman, and I started to read a book entitled Sailor Song: The Shanties and Ballads of the High Seas, by Gerry Smyth.
We decided to go to the Goodwill Store™ to make a donation and then set out to find a photo-op, or tow or three. We started @ Duncan Woods, motored to Grand Haven City Beach, then home for some shots of the tulips in the vast gardens of the Palatial Estate. I snapped some pix and I'll include them now.
A rare shot of Mary in Duncan Woods. |
Once again, experimenting with aperture settings. |
This young lady was walking her dog in Duncan Woods. |
I think I got the settings just right for this pic. |
This one too. |
Meanwhile, the wind was blowing at the beach and the kite-boarders were taking advantage. |
Same here. |
This group of boarders was getting ready as we were leaving. |
These yellow tulips are late bloomers. |
While the white tulips are nearing their end time. |
We had Mary's soon to be famous Tofu Cutlets on rye for lunch. While I was @ the orthopedist's office, she made one of my personal favorites, extraordinary beest, which she ground in the food processor and then browned the resulting crumbles in the cast-iron fry pan before serving them in hard-shell tacos with lettuce, fresh tomatoes, cheese slices, vegan sour cream, salsa, and hot sauce. she had picked up the vegan sour cream at Health Hutt™, along with some faux American cheeses slices for dinner. In my opinion, the best tacos we've had to date.
Tomorrow, we have an appointment for STWD at her veterinarian to have her ears checked and get some other small things tended to. Sugar is 15 years old and we can't decide whether she is getting deaf or whether she is ignoring us. We'll let the doctor tell us.
Otherwise, not much else is on tap for tomorrow. That's fine with me. More music, more reading, more crossword solving, and more of whatever feels right at the time. Ciao.
