A current temperature of 44° feels like 42° with a wind out of the west @ four mph. However, it is just damp enough to chill our old bones. So, when the low tonight drops to 39°, I hope to be snug under the covers, fast asleep. There is a 33% chance for showers tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow's high will reach 49°, which by any measure isn't seasonal for Michigan on May 7. The sun will still rise in the east @ 6:31 a.m. and it will still set in the west @ 8:52 p.m., but I am so looking forward to May 14, when the forecast calls for permanent temps in the 60s and above.
As previously noted, the 15 - 16 Cubs entertain the 13 - 17 Pirates tomorrow afternoon beginning @ 2:20 p.m. EDT when RHP Zach Davies, 1 - 2, throws the first pitch for the Cubbies.
The 9 - 23 Tigers fell to my beloved 19 - 13 Red Sox earlier today, 9 - 12. Tiger's manager, A. J. Hinch says that although the Tigers lost two out of three toe Red Sox, the Tigers' bats are beginning to show some life. I sure hope so, as the Tigers welcome the only slightly better, 11 - 19 Twins to Comerica Park for a night game beginning @ 7:10 p.m. when LHP Tarik Skubal, 0 - 4, takes the mound.
The beloved travel to Baltimore for a night game tomorrow beginning @ 7:05 p.m. against the 15 - 16 Orioles as LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, 4 - 0, takes the mound for the Sox. 3rd baseman, Rafael Devers, is starting to heat up for the Sox, so it should be a good series.
Earlier, we traveled to the local big-box home center to pick up some gravel, a new pot for our lily plant, and a piece of plywood for my window A/C unit. We also went driveabout to take some pix. I snapped a few while we were @ the Lake Forest Cemetery.
I snapped this pic near the entrance to the cemetery. |
I changed my aperture settings to capture this shot into the sun. |
This wild turkey was with a partner. |
Mary suggested this shot due to the mix of vibrant colors. |
Another shot with a tighter aperture setting to limit the light that passed through the lens. |
Otherwise, we took some time to do a chore we have been ignoring during the pandemic induced isolation period. The shelf in the refrigerator wasn't bad, but it was overdue for a good cleaning.
We watched two more episodes of Primeval and worked a crossword puzzle today too.
Tomorrow, gardening may be on our agenda if the rain doesn't come into play. Otherwise, we have plenty to do around the manse.
A final sad note. Mary received a call this morning from our niece, Sharon, that her father and Mary's brother Edward J. Bauler passed away earlier today. Ciao.
