Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."

My original plan was to stay in bed overnight. But after the busy day we had yesterday, that proved impossible. We did the indoor chores, we took a long walk to the waterfront and back following a short trip with STWD to the library. We also watched two, count them two, episodes of Primeval yesterday. During the second viewing upon our return, Mary made my favorite snack food, popcorn! So, by the time we had done all of the aforementioned activities, I was too pooped to pop so to speak and I adjourned to the media room where I promptly fell asleep.

At any rate, that long Rip van Winkle like nap allowed me to get up enough energy to make it to bed and fall asleep again. I would probably still be in the media-room if Mary hadn't called STWD down for her final out. That woke me so that I could summon the Weather Dog from her "Office" in Mary's craft room. I stayed in bed until about 3:00 a.m. and here I am.

We have a current temperature of 58° under mostly-cloudy skies that feels like 54° with strong winds out of the south @ 22 mph! Our overnight low is forecast to drop to 55° before today's high temperature of 63°.  Monday's high temperature is expected to reach 60° and then we aren't expected to see the 60s again until Tuesday, May 11!

To make a long day in baseball short, the 12 - 15 Cubs defeated the 12 - 14 Reds last night, 3 - 2 in a game that included a bench-clearing session of jawboning and a win by RHP reliever Rex Brothers. Starting RHP Jake Arrieta pitched well, but he wasn't around at the end. Today's game features RHP Trevor Williams, 2 - 2, on the mound for the Cubs @ 1:10 p.m. EDT.

My beloved 17 - 11 Red Sox lost to the 12 - 16 Rangers last night, 6 - 8. Today's game features RHP Garrett Richards, 1 - 2, on the bump for the Red Sox @ 2:35 p.m. EDT.

The 8 - 20 Tigers, what can I say? They fell to a better?, 13 - 14 Yankees team yesterday, 4 - 6 as Tigers' pitcher Spencer Turnbull failed to get the job done. Walks and a batter hit by a pitch proved to be his undoing. Today's game @ 1:05 EDT will have RHP Jose Urena, 1 - 3, on the mound for the Tigers.

On our extended walkabout to the waterfront, I took along my camera and shot some pix to chronicle our safari.

I got a good image of this flower along Columbus Ave..

As in most places, dandelions are perennials.

But so are what I believe to be wild mustard.

I can't name these flowers, but they may be a relative to tulips.

I like industrial looking shots too.

Not to mention Dewey Hill.

And ducks.

Resting near their mates.

I think I captured the leaden skies well over the channel.

In the GH Mini-Golf course, is this replica of the coal tipple.

Nearly next-door to the original.

I was toast by the time we headed home. I need to remind myself that like STWD, the mind may be willing, but my aging body is less capable.

Today, no plans other than recovery. There are many things I'd like to do, but they are many things that can wait. Ciao.
