Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world, It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City"

I've just finished a lengthy session of music practice on Blue, my Ovation 6-string guitar. I've been promising myself that I would sit down one of these mornings and make sure that my chops were still chopping. The forced update of my computer gave me both the opportunity and the time for that.

We have a current temperature of 29° that feels more like 18° with a wind out of the east @ 14 mph. Our overnight low will drop only one more degree before we rebound to today's high temperature of 43° under partly-cloudy to cloudy skies. The barometric pressure being shown on my DTWS is 29.83" of Hg and steady, while the NWS is reporting 30.45" of Hg and falling. Go figure.

The sun will rise this morning @ 7:56 a.m. EDT, and it will set this evening @ 7:51 p.m. EDT.

The NWS is also forecasting a Small Craft Advisory from St. Joseph to our south and extending to Pentwater to the north, from 8:00 a.m. this morning until 11:00 p.m. tonight. Wind speeds are expected to be 15 to 25 knots with gusts to 30 knots. Oddly, there are no wave heights given in the current forecast. I'll add my own thoughts and suggest that waves from four to seven feet are possible, based on my knowledge of past Small Craft Advisories. Once again, go figure.

As part of our driveabout, we drove to the library for a pickup and then set out for our photo safari. We got out yesterday without our fur-children for that localized driveabout and photo shooting opportunity. We didn't go far, only to Spring Lake and "Swan Lake" and then to Harbor Island here in GH, but I got some interesting shots.

It took me a while, but I got my camera set for the sunlight reflecting across Spring Lake.

Same here, very serene and pastoral.

The "Warmer" weather was enough reason for this lone man to be paddling his canoe on the lake.

I think that I captured the moment with a shot that showed the canoeist as more of a shadow.

In search of a spot for some new pix, we had pulled into Tanglefoot Park in Spring Lake, a former campground for RVs there.

Spring Lake occupies an area between the channels of the Grand River. so we crossed M-104, Savidge St., for more pix.

As I said, we came back to GH and went to "Swan Lake" and Harbor Island for more pix. I successfully captured the reflections of the trees on this small pond.

The swans were on the other side of "Swan Lake" near to the Verplank Docks in Ferrysburg.

The bicycle and pedestrian path that Mary and Ginger discovered near the Sims Power plant.

The path curves around the pond.

The natural sky and the man-made storage tanks contrast nicely.

In our own back-forty, the snow mound that was nearly five feet in height and which covered the vast gardens only a couple of weeks ago, is now almost gone.

Yesterday, Mary made her soon to be famous "Tofish" filets for lunch with a side salad. Dinner was my vegan Italian meatballs with acorn squash that Mary cut in half, baked for one hour, and for which she had made a sauce of brown sugar, cinnamon, and vegan margarine for additional flavor. We have yet to be disappointed by the produce we are receiving from Doorganics™.

With assistance, I finished the weekend crossword puzzle and I also finished another novel. I've already picked one off my shelf for my next read.

Today, our expanding repertoire of meal delights will be vegan soy curls that will be coated with our homemade gyro seasoning and placed inside pita bread with Mary's version of tzatziki sauce as our brunch.

We have a grooming session set for Ginger. She won't be happy, but as a terrier, her hair continues to grow and she is almost always in need of a good trimming and a bath. Sugar seems well following her recent surgery, but I discovered yet another growth on here head, so I am worried about her. No surprise there.

That will be enough for one day. Ciao.
