Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 12:00 a.m. in "The City."

We are under two alerts from the NWS. First, there is a  Gale Warning in effect until 7:00 a.m. today from St. Joseph to Manistee. South/Southwest winds of 35 knots will propel waves from 5 to 8 feet in  height.

In addition, there is a corresponding Wind Advisory in effect for that same time period for Allegan, Mason, Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa, and Van Buren counties. Wind speeds of 15 - 30 mph are expected on land.

Those alerts are on top of our regular weather. We have a current temperature of 56° that feels like 50° with south winds blowing @ 26 mph. Our low Wednesday night was forecast to drop to 47°, which will be today's high temperature. The sun will rise today @ 7:05 a.m. and set this evening @ 6:45 p.m.

For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you know that STWD was scheduled for surgery yesterday. We dropped her off at 8:00 a.m. and picked her up around 4:00 p.m. During routine tests, her doctor discovered that Sugar's kidney function is not up to par. So, we have to put her on a feeding plan that minimizes her intake of protein, which also eliminates her intake of regular kibble and treats. We can do it, but it will be an effort for Sugar.

While we were out after dropping off Sugar, we stopped at the Grand Haven State Park and our Senior Staff Photographer snapped some pix using her Olympus TG-6 Tough camera. While this camera is best suited to taking macro shots, she got some nice pictures of the "Big Lake" and the adjacent shoreline.

The colors of the sky made for a nice background to the lighthouses on the south pier.

This was the same angle, but using the maximum telephoto capabilities of the camera.

Ginger just had to get her sniffs.

I was upstairs working, when Mary captured this pic of a squirrel enjoying a day on our deck.

I am about 2/3 of the way through reading my latest novel. I finished the crossword puzzle from Tuesday's paper and that was about the extent of my ambitions today. I think I was apprehensive about Sugar.

Mary finished her latest knitting project, a cowl that matches the hat she recently finished. Both look great.

She was working on my artist's apron and watching TV as I typed.

Today, we hope to have a less busy and worrisome day. Ciao.
