Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."
Cubs Win! I'll keep it simple with just one Cubs Win!, oops that's two, as I don't want to overdo. At any rate, the boys in blue won their fifth straight, the latest over the Nats, 8 - 6. That gives the Cubs a record of 22 - 6 in the NL Central. The Tigers continue their freefall as they lost again, this time to the Rangers, 1 - 5. That moves them to a record of 14 - 14 in the AL Central. Nuff said. My beloved Red Sox are back in 2nd place in the AL East, with a record of 17 - 12, albeit in a statistical tie with the Orioles who have a division leading record of 16 - 11. The Caps defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 3 - 1. That moves them to 5th place in the Midwest League East, with a record of 14 - 12.
Yesterday's weather was great for walking and so we did, early in the day with STWD to pick up the Grand Haven Tribune, and a loaf of bread. Later, we returned to the downtown to drop off a package for return and also to return a loaf of bread that Mary feared may have had sesame seeds. She was looking out for my welfare, but it turns out that the seeds she saw were actually oat bran that looked odd in a loaf of unsliced bread. In any event, we took that loaf for a walk, twice.
No trains to spot.
Lunch was Coleslaw that Mary topped with her latest incarnation of salad dressing, which I like. She also used her new slicer to thinly slice her vegan gluten based ham, which when combined with lettuce, tomato, cheese, another new sauce that I also like, and bread, made the lunch complete. Later dinner was lentil based Sloppy Joe's with Mary's spicy barbecue sauce, that I also like. Hmmm, there seems to be a theme here. That came after our stop at the chiropractors and JWs.
Since the weather was so nice, I sat outside on the deck before dinner with the intrepid one and read my book. I finished that book later. I have many more books to read still on the shelf or in the Kindle™, plus one to be picked up at the library later today. Fortunately, the book I just finished will not be late, as it is due today.
Speaking of the weather, the current temperature is actually rising, as the Desktop Weather Station (DTWS) from now on, with its Front Porch Mounted Sensor (FPMS) shows 61°, while the NWS, reporting from GR is showing 55°. Later today, the NWS expects a high of 61°. Hmmmm. The WW indicates no precipitation, while the DTWS, is indicating rainfall. In this case, seeing is believing. However, there is a 20% chance of showers, according to the NWS, later this morning.
The morning safari with STWD to the inaugural 2016 GH Farmer's Market, henceforth called the (GHFM), should not be interrupted. As Mary noted, spring is officially here. I hope so, as Mary's Google™ research showed the reason why my bean, zucchini, and cucumber seeds have yet to germinate in the gardens of the PE. The soil temperature is below the requisite 60° plus threshold required for germination.
Today, we have a few errands to run and they should not take too long, I hope. I was corrected by Mary that she wasn't going to the mall for sandals, but sneakers. However, she may buy sandals too, since she is there. We also need to make a stop at the big-box home and garden center nearby.
I tried my new razor yesterday. I didn't realize it, but when I got downstairs Mary wondered why I had been slicing and dicing my own neck. That razor winging its way back to the purveyor, was the package we dropped off downtown. I couldn't wrap it nor drop it off fast enough.
That looks like enough for now. The sun will rise at 6:31 a.m. and set at 8:52 p.m. Ciao.
