Good mornig or good evening, wherever you may be, It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City."
This morning, George Noory is off and his substitute, Richard Syrett, is interviewing Dr. Richard Allen Miller, "A pioneer in the annals of metaphysical and paranormal exploration." They are discussing the U.S. Navy Seals' program to develop the so called "Super Soldier", and how "These protocols/tools can be used for your own personal evolution of consciousness," Whew, that's a mouthful. Later in the program, Richard will be speaking with Aaron Murakami, on using water as a fuel through the cold fusion process. How many times have I heard that bandied about? I think it's right up there with "Pyramid Power."
Enough about that. Now it is time for a sports report, which will be a tad shorter, I hope, since one-half of the report is/was a "Rain Out." Both the boys in blue and the Caps were rained out, so their relative league standings only changed if their competitor's positions changed, which in the case of the Cubs it did. The Cardinals were dispatched by a strong Washington Nationals team, 1 - 6. The Nats are leading the NL East. The Tigers defeated the Twins 4 - 1, to move or remain in 2nd place in the AL Central, with a record of 13 - 10, three games behind that other team from Chicago. My beloved Red Sox swatted the Yankees aside, 8 - 0. The Sox are now sporting a record of 14 - 10 in the AL East, good for 2nd place behind the Orioles, while the Yankees are in the cellar of that same division, with a record of 8 - 14. I like it!
We made it to the fabric store yesterday afternoon to pick up the necessary materials for my new chair pillow. Mary plans to use those items to create that pillow I mentioned in my last blog later today.
She spent a few hours in the futile search for a resolution to her problem with her indexing macros. Our IT Guru is currently stumped, but I am certain she will find an answer. Mary's need to stay with her computer and our IT Guru, meant that STWD and I soloed yesterday morning. STWD and yours truly took an extended sojourn through "The City.".
After Mary was done with the computer activity, she made a terrific lunch of roast beest sandwiches on baguettes with cabbage, Mary's own mushroom gravy, and "Chicago Style" giardiniera. They were incredible! Dinner came after we returned from our trip to the fabric store. It too was delicious, with nacho chips, more shredded cabbage, dairy free sour cream, salsa, and for me, jalapeno pepper slices.
I started reading the book The Witches by Stacy Schiff, for the discussion group that Mary and I are participating in at the Tri-Cities Historical Society later this week, I believe. While the book would not be my regular fare, it is interesting. However, how many tales of witches, Puritans, possession, spells, and demonic activities can one take? More reading today.
The current temperature is 45°, but it feels like 38°. Later today we'll reach a forecast high of 55° with rain in the evening again in the forecast. Monday promises to be partly sunny with a high temperature of 58°. We'll see.
Today, Mary will be sewing my chair pillow after I assist her with the measuring of the fabric. We have some leftover fabric from the valences that Mary is making for my windows, so that will be the fabric for my new pillow too. The ladies at the fabric store were able to give us a pattern to follow for the pillow. However, since it is a model of the pattern, I need to assist with the measuring. I hope I can, as Mary is generally better than I with fabric and yarn measurement. The fabric is a guitar pattern that we picked up two years ago at a fabric store in Plymouth, WI when we were at nearby Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI for the vintage car races.
Other than that, not much is on tap. The morning walk with the intrepid one, perhaps a Cubs game if they can get one in, and the regular bagel with a schmear while watching CBS Sunday Morning after we arise.
The sun will rise at 6:39 a.m. and set at 8:47 p.m. Ciao.
